[REPORTED]Night time Shadows

Highwayman-Ed

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, appologies if this has been reported before, but I couldn't find anything after a few searches using various keywords, so here goes.

When flying at night, the low LOD shadows are projected from the direction of the sun, even though it has set, or hasn't risen yet, but the high LOD shadows are projected from the direction of the moon.

See the screenshot below where the darker and sharper low LOD shadows to the Eagle's left side are reacting to a light source at to top right of the frame at around the 1 O'Clock position, whereas the High LOD shadows on the right side of it are reacting to a light source coming in from the right side, around the 4 O'Clock position, which in this screenshot corresponds with the position of a Full moon.

In some cases, such as in the next screenshot, you will get both the High and the Low LOD shadows projected for the same object as you're flying along, which can be pretty distracting!

Shadow settings on Medium, Terrain shadows on Default, occurs in 2D and VR.
