To me it just seems like our virtual pilot has been spending to much time playing this:

There may be a way to modify it in a lua file somewhere. The parameter is something like head_shake_amplitude IIRC

This is most definitely an option. Options, Misc tab, Head Movement by G-Forces in Cockpit. I just verified that you can turn it off.. I'm using 2.2

With it unchecked it reduces the side to side bobbing by 80% or so. It's still there just significantly reduced. I guess this what people are referring to when they say it cannot be completely removed.
