C-101CC Multicrew status

You can start up and fly from rear cockpit.

Electrical system works, as well as fuel system in general ,except some details like ext. wing pumps which do not work yet. Starter, ignition, work... all needed basically to start up.

Flight controls, speed brake, trim, flaps work, so you can control the a/c from rear cockpit.

Main flight instruments as well as engine instruments work.

For further details, see our changelogs, but nothing too useful for you, except maybe engine anti-ice if you fly in icing conditions. Some pushbuttons like engine computer.

I was under the impression it was functional I guess when I bought it. My friend and I tried playing today for the first time and switching control would cause us to randomly fly up in the air and whatnot. You could even control the plane with it not running (not even the electrical systems on). After we finally got flying somewhat properly, nothing in the rear cockpit worked. All I got were random readings in gauges (if they worked at all), tons of random warning lights, the cockpit looked liked it was open from the inside, but closed like it should have been from the external views. The power cut in and out randomly. It made no sense at all. Thoughts? We tried a ton of times to get it to work to no avail.

AFAIK multi-crew works but you need to do a little DCS 'dance' i.e. the order of joining the aircraft, pilot first, then instructor, then spawn, etc. to get it to work reliably.

IIRC there were multi-crew issues when hosting a co-op mission but not the pilot but it's been a while since I flew the Gazelle and it may just effect the radio coms and/or mission triggers.

I haven't flown the C-101 in multi-crew, so don't know if it has any specific issues over/above the usual DCS minor cockpit desyncs.

Update:

I got to test multi-crew last night.

Doing a C-101CC ramp start Batumi, everything looked good (in sync. and control transfer working).

Entering Runway CTD for instructor

Unfortunately, the C-101CC, suffers the same DCS "RIO CTD when entering the runway" bug as the F-14 at Batumi.

The fix for the F-14 is due in the 8th May patch, so hopefully it'll also fix the C-101CC.

Canopy Missing/Desync

I sat on the runway while the backseat player rejoined and we saw the same canopy desync as you (from my perspective the back canopy opened and warning lamp lit, when P2 joined). We settled for the position where the canopy warning was off.

The canopy was missing for the 'instructor' but otherwise instruction was in sync. with instrument, flap and gear call outs matching.

We flew without further issue for 31 min with a rocket run, a pair of mk-82 and a gun run to lighten the load.

Pilot DCS Freeze on control transfer

Unfortunately, when I came to pass control to the backseat, my DCS (Host/pilot) froze when I clicked on Accept request - not sure if you need to click on name, like when first joining ?

• The cockpit dash froze at 90°

• F2, F10, ESC, etc. didn't respond

• there was a wind SFX loop

The backseat 'instructor' continued flying in his client but had difficulty trimming, he felt he had trimmed out successfully (his first C-101 flight) when he eventually quit DCS 5-10 min later.

Note: I use a MSFFB2 joystick (force feedback) while the client was using T.16000M HOTAS (regular joystick).

Tested, DCS Open Beta 2.5.4.30038, dcs.log attached in case there's a bug to find.

BTW the first week this AC came out I flew a multicrew with my son's friend (sidebar: His dad was on the design team for the C-101 and is now a professor at Yale.) I set up a LAN server, he flew from the front seat (in vr) I flew from the back seat. We took off from Kutaisi, flew up the coast, bombed targets, shot down aircraft, flew back and landed without the slightest issue. So, basically it CAN work if all the moons are aligned.
