CA in current state, is it any good for SP?

Is it ANY good in SP? Sure, it is good in SP. Maybe even quite good. Some aspects are done way beyond your expectations, and some other things are still not quite there, but definately it is good fun.

And for certain it is WAY more value than what they are charging for it.

When I saw what CA was offering I was quite impressed.

It actually has a unique realism edge in some very important areas.

The attention that is paid to the munitions is significant. Some of the surface to air missiles have AFMs and while I can't vouch for the realism of the flight and accuracy of the other munitions; at no time do they come across as unrealistic. Things are constantly improving in these areas.

Other areas appear to lag in development but I see more that they are hibernating.

You will see some neat details with the munitions. Smaller caliber cannons that are dual fed (AP and HE) will still fire the prior type of round after the user selected another ammo type. This is true to their real life counterpart. You can watch tank rounds fired, slow down the game speed and zoom in on that round flying down range. Its an actual 3d model of a Sabot round flying. Really neat

In the latest developer interview, they said CA will see the most expansion in 2015. It really has the potential to bring the simulation to another level. Edge and DCS 2.0 with proper infantry should be fantastic. In 5 years time who knows, maybe it will be a complete battlefield sim, Air, Land and Sea.

CA in current state is better than release, in general. At least few of the bugs and performance issues (my side) reduced. For example, the tank firing created a sandstorm that bottlenecked my rig for a few seconds before I could shoot again after the dust settles.. now its follow-up shots.

For SP, what others said, but I mainly use it to get a feel of ballistics of tanks, and missile parameters (SAMs). I also use it to play sandbox but the 'patchy' terrain while sometimes works as a turret low tactic can really piss you off taking shots at a slant carriage.

But remember its full potential is yet to be unleashed, plus it would fare much much awesome in multiplayer setting.

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

i can say MP and being in a TOR or tunguska is a real blast, especially when you coordinate with fighters so you bait the enemy to go into kill zones.

How is the Georgian Hammer with CA campaign? Does it add more options or merely more headache?

I just started it a day ago and am trying to figure it out. I'm thinking that if OP already has A-10C, it may be worth picking up,

I think it's fine. There are a few missions available. I've made a few of my own. Even when you KNOW where everything is (because you put it there), it can still be fun and challenging not to get shanked by that APC or a group of RPG soldiers if you don't spot 'em first.
