vu733gt
Hi all, happens to me many times, i see distant target (black dot) in front of me through the hud, but im not able to track it with eos or radar, i move sensors up down left right but no luck, sensors do not see the target and target is also not in range for close range modes. Can you help? Why this happens. Sometimes I see black dot but eos cant see it, than i use radar to find it, sometimes even radar doesnt help. Thank you for your help. razo+r
maybe it is a missile or something else and not always a plane? maybe post a picture or a track next time
M0ltar
That dot, if it is a plane, also may have you in a notch which is why the radar and IRST would not be picking it up. M0ltar
Will check it today and post pictures from game and tacview Something else to consider is the radar mode you are in and the aspect of the target. HI is going to work well for targets at range with a hot aspect. MED works for targets that are cold and close to you. ILV is a mode that switches between the 2. If you havent already, try switch your radar to HI and make sure that the antenna elevation is actually pointing at the targets elevation. Stuge
There are many reasons why radar or eos won't pick a target up, but if neither can pick it up, and you're sure it's relatively close, then most likely it's a missile that is falling out of the sky :) http://www.104thphoenix.com
WildBillKelsoe
you gotta love the black dot thingy. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Drona
In my opinion, this "dot" hunting is spoiling proper BVR tactics and radar/eos operation. I hope ED fix it in 2.5 its spoiling the fun

Frostie
noo noo nooo! its very good dont remove it! we couldnt see bupkiss before it! It's very poor, seeing dots from beyond visual range and combining that with worse visibility within visual range makes the whole bvr, wvr business a nonsense. Great if you're flying MiG21s, F5s, AV8s etc. but only great because it makes it easier for you by allowing you to bypass realism in your quest to find targets. This is then amplified by how p.poor bvr missiles are. Drona
Its just not realistic and it is creating bad habits for a lot of pilots. Some guys are calling out bandit missile launches from 60 or 70 km out, which is unbelievable.
