Now if it eventually will get its ability to actually launch missiles, then I will be happy ;)

do you guys also have this texture glitch with the driver?

Driver texture is fine for me. Try a cleanup and repair just to be sure.

thanks

it's fine for me too if i choose default skin in the unit options.

glitch happens as soon as i choose iraq or iran skin.

default would be fine for me but if i create a scud unit with country iran or iraq it automatically uses the country skin and the texture glitch happens.

Might be a problem with your texture .lua file in your texture folder, check whether the texture for the driver is false or true (I think true looks in like a default folder or something whereas false looks inside the folder you create your texture in - although it might be the other way round... I don't have the OB installed so I can't check).

Hi All the issue lay in the description.lua files. If you change them as shown below the problem will be resolved.

As it currently stands these lines currently contain a .bmp element to them. Removing .bmp using notepad ++ is the fix.

Hope this helps. Cheers.

I'm glad ED decided to release the vehicle even if it can't actually launch. It makes for a great mission objective.

i don't know. now that it is "released", let's just hope it will not be stuck in WIP limbo for the whole of 2020...

I agree.

It can get to a location, go into launch position and then it is my target, I don't need it to fire to complete my Hornet mission.

Surely it will be also interesting once the missile is finished, but this is not SAM, and missile launch results can be achieved via ME anyway.

Great move ED!

How do you get it into launch position? does it erect the launcher?

i tried with alert state red and task fire at position without success.

i know it can't fire but i thought it can at least erect the missile into launch position.

Both ways you mentioned work fine. It takes some minutes for the launcher to set missile up.

It depends

What is the realistic setup for a SCUD platoon/battery?

How many support units are needed?

As this is a tactical asset, there is no single answer to your question. It depends not only on the intentions of the user but also the military doctrine in use at a given time amongst other aspects.

If you think about it, this is a mobile unit that can operate outside of normal batteries/platoons or larger force.

Each launcher vehicle is escorted by reloading vehicle, fuel tanker, crane, command vehicle, positioning vehicle, and some other support vehicles. Also there is a vehicle which carries warhead for the missile. During the Cold War Scuds were also escorted by decontamination vehicles.

ok, now i know the problem is only in multiplayer. when running the mission on my dedicated server the do not go into firing position. i waited 20+ minutes. they do if i start same mission in single player! really annoying

Just so the info is here as well,

Correct, ballistics has not been finished yet, but we added the model as it makes a good target.

We hope to have ballistics in a future patch, we will add it to the change log when it happens.

thanks

thanks BN.

i understand the missile cannot fire atm, all good.

i just wonder why in single player the missile go into firing position (launcher errects missile) and in multiplayer it does not.

it would make for a way better target with the missile erected also in multiplayer.

Yes. It not ready for launch now. We are working for missile dynamics now and can release missile soon.
