sthompson Posted December 30, 2017 Share Posted December 30, 2017 Need to redo manual config after DCS update After DCS 1.5 updated a few days ago I was having some weirdness with VAICOMPRO 2.5 in that version. It looks like the update undid the manual installation of VAICOMPRO with respect to the files in the DCS directory tree, and so I had to install again. If this is going to be a persistent problem then it would be VERY helpful if the automatic installation was slightly more intelligent or flexible. For example, my DCS installations are on the D: drive (an SSD) but otherwise are identical to a standard installation on C: (not an SSD). It would be helpful if I could input the path to DCS somewhere in the VAICOMPRO configuration so that it would update the files automatically for me after a DCS update. Could that be done? Also the manual gives no explanation for the "Auto-Import new theater" "Include custom folders" or "Auto-import new modules" check boxes in the Configuration menu, or for the two empty boxes to the right of "Include custom folders." Can you give some idea what these are used for and how to use them? Would they solve the problem I identified above? Apart from these issues I'm enjoying learning the new system. Correct, if you have a manual install you need to redo it after a DCS update for the two lua files in the main directory. Idea: for manual installs you can turn the appended lua files (RadioCommandDialogsPanel.lua and speech.lua) into a mod and use JSGME to easily restore them after an update. [EDIT] Latest build on the download page now features improved auto-install function. VAICOM PRO delivers the correct command and parameters to DCS (as you can also tell by the Crew's reply) but as far as I can tell it seems ED hasn't coupled any actual AI actions to this command (yet?). We may need to start a lobby with ED to get this one working, although perhaps between now and the next couple of weeks they may have a few other things on their minds first :D I'll look into it some more to see what else I can find out. Once I add the Vaicom 2.5 pro app to voiceattack it appears voiceattack tries to reference it for additional profiles. Is there a way to use a separate profile for another sim without it using Vaicom? I know this is beyond the scope of your product, but thought you might know how to do it? thanks! t1mb0b Posted December 31, 2017 Share Posted December 31, 2017 (edited) Tx tones from VA scenario: sat in the A10C with VHF(AM), VHF(FM) and UHF radios on and selectable with mic switch mappings. All 3 are set as the relevant PTT in VAICOMPro and i can see in VA that when each is pushed i get the TX1/2/3 commands along with 'Listening resumed'/'Listening suspended' messages. I am however only getting the 'hash' tones at the press/release when using the TX1(VHFam) PTT. Any ideas why not the other 2 radios? Other profiles won't reference the plugin, but the plugin will be loaded by VoiceAttack as long as 'plugin support' is enabled. Suggest to just select the profile you intent to use for the specific session, then restart VA and use that profile. That way it should work fine. There is no spoon. When I go into training mode words are recognised with high confidence (e.g. Batumi t 90%)If I then go into the sim and issue Batumi inbound VA is recognising it as back to me inbound. It works OK ass Batumi is the closest airport but I can see it causing problems in some instances. Any idea why it is recognised in the trainer but not when in game? I have the main radio set to 133 but every time I call I am getting a reply from Batumi. Your dialog is set to Batumi and you need to use (Instant) Select to switch recipient. Please read the User Manual on the use of the Select command. PM me if you get stuck. This means you can call ‘ATC,...Request Engines Start’ immediately without having to use the Select command first." Thanks for that. I still have a couple of problems however : -I can only get Vaicom to work if I start a new voiceattack session every time i start a new mission. -I have tested all modules except for the harrier and a couple of WW2 craft. The VAICOM PRO log indicates your auto-install for 1.5 did not finish normally. Undo the manual install for 1.5 by refering to manual page 33. In config window clear the Custom Folders fields. Then get the latest plugin build from the website, restart, and try again. Catch me on PM if you need more help after that. @Spetz, all I seem to have reproduced an instance where in very specific cases the PTT refresh can stop working and VA restart is required. I couldn't reproduce this before. Looks like this may be related to your issue. I will be investigating this more and come back on it. There is no spoon. Sorry, I can't think of the right adjectve just now. In my own profiles, if I have a problem with, to use this example, 'JTAC' being recognised, I would set it to listen for " jay tack" instead. Do you do that, too, or just substitue for easier words? In the default list there are no "soundalikes" but it can work to add them for tricky keywords. Results can vary but for JTAC I've had quite reasonable success with 'Jay Tack' myself also.
