Tanker aircraft for the Harrier

Hi Guys,

Just had a question about Razbam's DCS AV-8B Harrier II. And I apologise if this has been asked before but I was wondering if Razbam were considering/ could consider doing tanker aircraft like what we see with Razbam's AV-8B Harrier II+ and Gr.7/9 Harriers for FSX/P3D. (I think they were the KC-130 and VC-10 respectively). I know the DCS Harrier is neither an AV-8B Harrier II+ or the Gr.7/9 but I think it would be nice to see tanker aircraft for it like what we got with the FSX/P3D packs.

Cheers,

Ollie

How difficult would it be for ED to modify the c-130 we have into a tanker?

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

DCS already has an AI KC-135 to be used.

Problem is, the KC-135 we currently have is boom-only. I hope ED will have us a probe-and-drogue compatible KC-135 with the F/A-18C, at least, if none has come out yet. The best would be to be able to choose which configuration in the payload screen: boom only, boom drogue adapter, or MPRS (Multi-Point Refueling System).

Isn't there a refuel-capable S-3 Viking around?

Yeah. The model is old.. unless ED would like to update it.....:smilewink:

Now I may be remembering incorrectly and it may have since been cancelled, but I could swear an A330 Voyager MRTT was being planned by someone.

Yeah, VEAO mentioned they wanted to make an A330 MRTT to refuel their upcoming Eurofighter Typhoon, probably a long way off though.

  • 2 weeks later...

We need the KC-10A for a couple of reasons...

First they are capable of Boom and Drogue refueling on the same sortie...

B.) We need them for the SOH map. KC-10As have flown out of bases in the UAE since the early 1990s.

The KC-10 Model is Old...

Needs Re-done/Re-Placed and it was originally only Boom from what I saw on the Model and in the LUA.

The other issue is, the Refuel Points are HardCoded at some level, changing them from the default breaks the system.

We just need an option to add basket(s) to the KC-135, it would be great for the Mirage 2000 and the upcomings Harrier, F-14, F-18, getting tired to refuel on an IL-78.

I think I'm more on the side of adding the ability to add drogues to the current KC-135 but that's more to do with ED than Razbam. But I would welcome a KC-130 like on Razbam's FSX/P3D Harriers, but I suppose they're doing an LHA on top as well... Ehh idk

And yes the S-3 Viking definitely needs a new model alongside many other aircraft types.
