MobiSev Posted January 19, 2020 Share Posted January 19, 2020 It seems to me that the chaparral has bugged missile tracking. When launched at a target coming head on, the missile will not take an intercept course. Instead, the missile will go behind the target, then make a very high G turn to get back on course. This does not seem to be right. Below are two tracks - one of the Chaparral and one of the Stinger for comparison's sake. Notice the difference. GumidekCZ Posted January 29, 2021 Share Posted January 29, 2021 (edited) Did some test with CA module and all SHORAD IR systems (US/RU). Fighter crossing Chaparral WEZ at 5000ft and speed 0,8M. Result was VERY POOR performance by Chaparral mainly due to its BUG in guidance (mainly from rear hemisphere).
