Clean HUD glass + Brighter SPO-15 for MiG-29 (Passes Integrity Check)

Recommended Posts

Hello all. With the help of some friends, I have put together a very simple mod that

1: reverts the MiG-29 HUD to the 1.5.6 version. 1.5.7 added a low resolution, "baked on" reflection on the HUD which made it really dark and dirty looking.

2: makes the SPO-15 bright enough so that you can actually read what it says at all times. The SU-27 and Su-25 SPO's are perfectly bright, but the MiG-29's is so dim that you can't read what it says during the day. This was a simple texture mod done by user "Cmptohocah".

Here is an image comparison

Because it is a Livery, the installation is very easy and takes seconds. Once you place this "Fixed" folder in all of the MiG-29 Livery folders, you select it via the FC3 special options menu, and that's it!

Enjoy being able to see through your HUD again, as well as being able to tell what the hell your SPO says.

Got the mirrors working by adding {"Mig-29_cockpit_Mirrors", 0 ,"mirrors",true}; to the description.lua

New description.lua attached below.

Just tried this Mod, but the glass is so clean that it seems that there isnt any ... not on the hud, not on the windshield, also the HUD brackets dont throw shadow on tha windshield.

I reverted to the original cockpit, as the reflections dont really bother me and are only noticeable on certain sun positions or time of day ... it just look so much more realistic stock than modded.
