Quick question for you guys that have the MPDs but are flying with a VR headset - you obviously are having to find and touch the buttons blind, right? I suppose you get used to where they are, but how do you tell which button is which?

I use a small piece of Velcro stuck to the middle button on each row/column to help differentiate by feel/reinforce muscle memory.

I can feel for the inner edge of the plastic, and my fingers are invariably in the right place that the Velcro covered button is there or thereabouts..

Elegant. I like it.

You´re very welcome. The Speedmaster flight seat frame is made of steel and a very solid base.

Drilling holes into it, is the hardest thing, but looking forward with some passion for the result, makes things easier. Make sure you´re using the right drill for it.

For the sidemounted stick, I´ve spend a lot of time to place it in the right position, right heights by changing many times the view from the VR cockpit of the Viper to the simpit - the Mongoose T-50 CM2 is very good to simulate the FBW stick of the Viper as it is respectively slim to be placed closed to the right leg and also got a much more appropriate moving angle from the center than the WrBRD base to simulate fly-by-wire. In addition to that, the center force of the T-50 CM2 could be adjusted separately.

It´s pretty expensive, but not as much as the FSSB R3 Lighting base, which is obviously the best gimble to simulate the F-16.

Hi finally all the pieces arrived (Virpil base plate).

I made a quick test with something I already had and the table legs...

Here are the results

Do you have anymore oscillation now? I have taken a wooden plate, which fills out the entire inner frame on the ground, just for a nice look and feel. But on the other hand, with your construction, you could still move the seat back and forth, what I can´t anymore :-))).

Yes i can move the seat....I don’t have oscillations but the plate is not heavy....probably i will change it with a nicer and heavier one later

My little setup, in daytime and when plying.

This is my setup since last year December, as always subject to change... new Virpil is already ordered, and will be replaced, while a colleague wants my „old“ one...

Does that Logitech flight panel work out of the box in dcs without in weird .lua tweaks?

Using DCSFlightPanels they function as keyboard macros. Saitek panels are not DirectX plug-n-play controllers, they're proprietary

This is my actual layout, I know, the display is an old one but its brilliant and crystal clear for all kind of other games.

Nevertheless, DCS has some issues by got displayed into full mode aside of windowed, all icons and buttons are dislocated from direct hitpoints.

I just put this together. There's not a lot to it, but I fly in VR only, so simpler is better.
