A radical solution can be to reduce the squadron number in this campaigns. For example you can cut off Harrier, Mirage 2000c one Falcon squadron, reduce naval squadrons : only one Hornet and one Tomcat squadron instead of two... etc

To do that modify Oob_init.lua but be careful to the listing number : it must stay in good order so you will have to change numeration. Then look in the trigger file to adapt reinforcements deleting the squadrons missing ( save original files )

I will study a light version myself

Thanks. Which one is the trigger file? I will give this a shot as I really would like to use this campaign.

I think I found an even easier way. Instead of deleting those flights (which as you said corrupts both the numbering and also the triggers), I just set them to inactive (the reserve flights are already inactive, now I set their "main" flights inactive too). This way the numbering is still fine and the triggers are also ok I think. Correct me if I am wrong or if this will have negative effects.

I only played one mission so far but the performance is a lot better. Maybe this trick helps others too.

I'm really enjoying what I've played of these DCE campaigns however despite following the instructions I have been getting an error (see attached image) at the end of the mission and the debrief bat log never comes up. If I manually open the debrief bat I get the following error:

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\luae.exe: ..\..\..\ScriptsMod\Debrief_Master.lua:43: attempt to call a nil value

stack traceback:

..\..\..\ScriptsMod\Debrief_Master.lua:43: in main chunk

[C]: ?

First mission and Skip mission work fine, only debrief doesn't. I've seen errors like this earlier in this thread but the solutions they've had haven't worked for me. I am running open beta however I originally ran release and converted later so all my pathways are the same as a release install.

You checked all these items?

Especially item 3?

By the way, your image is weird, it doesn't have any reference to a problem on OpenBeta but on the release.

Or your OpenBeta installation is weird.

Thanks Miguel, I tried again and it didn't change anything. So I tried a different campaign and it worked. Out of the 3 I've tried (Harrier over PG, TF-68 80's and TF-71) only TF-71 doesn't work and it uses the Scriptmod 20.37.01 (the one with the init file). Could it be related to that as the other two work fine.

The reason it references to release is because I originally installed the release version on my PC and converted it to Open Beta later meaning all the install pathways are titled as DCS not DCS.openbeta.

Ha? 20.37.01?

Yes, the installation is completely different, there is a PDF to explain the differences.

You must not have a path in camp_init.

You must not have a version in conf_mod (versionPackageICM)

You MUST have a Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech\DCE\ScriptsMod.20.37.01

You need to adapt your paths in Init/path.bat...

If all this doesn't work, look at your DCS log and look for a line with "pathDCE" in it.

This tells you exactly, what DCE is trying to find as a path

Thanks Miguel, its working now.

Should of thought to look at the log earlier, I had entered my saved games path wrong with C:\Users\*my name*\ etc so when it looked for the file it was looking for a C:\Users\*my name*\C:\Users\*my name*\. Once I fixed that up it was working fine.

I didn't see anything in the PDF about camp_init but I checked it and corrected the path from DCS.openbeta to DCS which will save me a headache later.

in camp_init the path must be deleted for 20.3x.xx campaigns

Hi,

I play an old version of Mirage over Persian Gulf, I wonder if an update is possible without restarting? I am at +30 missions. But now the problem is there is few aircrafts in the air, campaign doesn't seem to progress at all... AI misses very often its target... I wonder if I can edit the missions, add some flights?

You probably put the files in the wrong mod folder. "Mods" in your installation folder -> official mods. "Mods" in savegame -> unofficial mods.

Hello, i have a problem with the TF-71 campaign : when i get to a catapult, nothing happens, like if the crew does not see me, and also my wingmen do not move at all !

- I've tried in both stable and OB : same result.

- I've done all the installation steps multiple times, nothing changes.

I think it will be difficult but you may look into active folder to try to change squadrons reserves ... not sure it will work but I don’t know how to do better...

I've noticed this happens when the carrier has gone into recovery mode due to AI flights needing to land. Usually an indication is the Cat 3 and Cat 4 personnel move to the edge, away from the landing area. Once the recovery completes, it all goes back to normal, so yes, you can sometimes miss your take off time, as do AI flights in your package, as recovery takes precedence.

Cheers!

I just tried Falcon over PG with a friend of mine and we done some strike missions. However the SEAD flight that was assigned to our package stayed at their airbase and never moved at all during the mission. I had a look at the planes via the f2 external view and it looked like it was using the old F-16C model for the planes (not sure if this is part of the issue). Has anyone else been having a similar issue? The escort flights were fine and took off and helped out but it just seemed any SEAD flight was stuck on the ground with no pilots in the cockpits.

Hi guys, the WWII Normandy Campaign is now out. CEF will put the link to the user files later on.

In the mean time, I want to give the Channel map some use. Any ideas? I was thinking of a recreation of some sort of operation Sealion. But ideas are welcome.

Really very interested by this bug (?) I use old F-16C version because of it's SEAD possibilities ! Was it in OB or Stable ?

New campaigns versions and adaptations of existing Tomcat and Hornet campaigns to SuperCarrier module : links on the first page.

Installation is far simplier : read the new PDF for instructions and new features. A little FAQ should answer some questions often asked in this forum ;)

Other campaigns will be updated too soon...

It was in OB. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to activate anything to make the SEAD flight to enable or something but I flew the whole mission and they stayed on the ground. Do they automatically begin to takeoff themselves or does it need user input somehow?

Well in fact there are reserves. But DCE doesn't use them...
