Recent outing on a MP server.... :-)

Figuring I was a bit up on my skills, decided to take my MiG-15 out for some fun on a MP server.

In short order, I had to tackle with a couple of F-86's. So I violated Rule number 1, don't mess or press a bad situation. They were both AI, so I got one of them, and then got hammered by his girlfriend.

I managed to get a breakaway, and I brought this bird home with a safe touchdown.

If anyone cares, I was awarded the medal, "Hero of Socialist Labor" For saving an essential defense asset of our Soviets and their hard work to defend the Motherland.

Nice work. You'll be happy to know that both pilots were ordered the Air Medal for keeping a soviet fighter grounded for a few weeks. Also one Purple Hart was awarded.

Ha! You decadent Imperialist's!!! We'll free the Motherland from you Western Air Pirates and Hooligans soon!!!;):megalol:

Hopefully we will see you out again soon, we need a stronger Mig-15 / Sabre Multi-player community.

Indeed M8. Love flying these classic Jets. Catch you in the Virtual Skies soon!

I was flying out in the f-86 the other day and I encountered two MiGs. They seemed to not see me so I tried to engage. They maneuvered defensively when I got near, but couldn't get behind me. However, despite not being hit, during a maneuver I heard a bang, my engine stopped producing thrust, and my wheel doors fell off. My EGT and RPM were fine, but I could not accelerate. I glided to a friendly air-base, and made an atrocious emergency landing, skidding sideways to a stop on the grass at the end of the runway. Don't know what happened, but it was fun anyways.

I love DCS Korea, and I wish more people did. I love the way the jets are stuck using nothing but fairly weak and close range guns, as it leads to longer more drawn out fights. You have to get in close, and even then you are not guaranteed the kill. I love the furballs that can last for minutes at contrail altitude. Overall the combat feels more tactile then present day, and it is not as frustrating because you don't normally get eliminated before the merge. I love my M2K, but it is no fun to get a spamram shoved up your anus unexpectedly! :D

I should pay a visit to that server. I'm not used to multiplayer and i am not good at flying the MiG-15 -though it's in my top 3 favourite DCS bird- but that MP experience should help improve. :)

Yes, you should! Two or three Sabre patrols of two aircraft are always around to practice against if there are no humans on yet. It is up 24/7 unless it has crashed and I wasn't around to restart it.

We run a DCS Simple Radio server as well so it is easy to coordinate with any other Migs that are on the server.

And we run events every second Sunday at 1700Z where we are always looking for Mig pilots.

DCS Korean War Era jets are amongst the most enjoyable planes to fly in the sim period. I always have a blast flying them :D. Every so often the Korean war Airquake event happens on a server (I don't remember which...possibly ACG), and the server quickly fills with upwards of 20+ people! Its easily one of the most enjoyable experiences one can have in DCS.
