[FIXED with HOTFIX 3] 2.5.3 openbeta crash(Nevada and Persian gulf)

The solution of post #182 worked. Thank you! Loaded into Blueflag Persian Gulf first time with no issues.

DCS Open Beta has crashed, as I noted, but is "shutting down" in Task Manager but not quitting. I cannot terminate it manually. Looks like a reboot is required.

Copying the autoexec.cfg to the folder solved my problem with Persian Golf map. Nevada is not installed in my open beta, so I can't say anything about it.

Do the contents of the autoexec need to be used by people for the foreseeable future, or is this a quick workaround until it is fixed in the next update?

I ask because my skin installers utilize a custom autoexec.cfg, and I need to know whether it is worth updating.

PG and NTTR are up and running for me now! I did PG first, closed out of DCS, then re-opened and successfully ran NTTR. Both logs are attached. Thank you for solving this problem! Would I be correct in assuming that this fix will be worked into future open beta updates, and that the user will not have to do do more than to just run the DCS updater? Also, will this have any affect on updates of the stable version?

I completely uninstalled Open Beta, removed all the files in the Saved Games folder, cleaned the registry, and rebooted.

I downloaded a fresh installation of the Open Beta, added the modules and aircraft, and loaded the game. I set the graphical settings to high and opened a quick mission in the Normandy map. The sim worked as intended. I had NOT added the autoexec.cfg file.

I shut the game down and loaded another mission on the Normandy map. The map and mission loaded correctly. I changed the skin on the aircraft, change occurred as expected; no crashes.

I haven't added back any mods, and my suspicion now is that the problem was mod-caused.

Adding the autoexec.cfg to the config folder seems to have done the trick. I was able to load a mission set in the Persian Gulf without a crash. Haven’t had the opportunity to try flying a mission yet, but the instant action carrier cold and dark in the PG loaded, and both of those are miles beyond what was happening before adding that file.

The fix worked and the first load of PG was painfully slow but the second time I loaded it was way faster. Didn't fly a mission yet but all seems good.

The autoexec. did it for me, both NTTR and Hormuz are working again.

Just out of curiosity, could you tell us what was the most likely root cause of this problem?

I still seem to have the same problem as before?

Somehow I managed to download the file twice and selected the file with (1) added to the file,finally found the issue after climbing the walls wondering why I couldn`t get it to work:megalol:

FYI - the official Hot Fix 3 is now out there to be installed that includes this fix.

I just fully tested all maps (Caucasus, PG, NTTR) and it’s working perfectly. Also, I did delete all of the fxo and metashaders2 files before testing.
