Witchking
Absolutely incredible. Thanks for providing such an amazing upgrade ED. I commend your continued obsession and passion with DCS. It has truly evolved to a truly next-gen experience. For those of us who have been with ED since Flanker 2, it is a pleasure to see the evolution. I used to think that the graphics in the flanker 2 opening cinematic would be a dream come true. I think DCS 2.5 will truly surpass that. :) Great job. I wish you guys all the best and hope your hard work truly pays off. I for one will support you guys as much as I can, even if I don't fly half of the aircraft that I buy. Cake
Doesn't really matter how close the trees are to pavement, what matters is the remaining runway once you consider the position of a displaced threshold to meet maximum glide slope clearance requirements. Say, what? There are good reasons we have runway safety areas RSA that also includes space to the sides of the runways. Trees aren't all frangible. There area also taxiway safety areas. These are good points about having big trees at the airports, particularly around and between runways and taxiways. Kinda doesn't make sense. 6700K@4.6 48Gb - 1080Ti Hybrid - Warthog - RIFT

More of this kind of communication is exactly what we were talking about in that other thread about the future of DCS. I must say, this also looks better than the competition. Lovely stuff. Terzi
Some thoughts on Caucaus being free: I really appreciate the work done by ED. I also agree that we should show our support to this sim by all means, so that they can provide us more free content. Like Sithspawn commented on other post, other software games would really try to sell you missiles and fuel on online servers. If some other game-makers would do as much research and development they would be more money-hungry. DCS is the ONLY high quality military sim you can find right now. Game developers are not interested in making new reality based military sims for two main reasons: 1- We are so few in numbers which will not bring them much profit. 2- It is a huge work. Assess the value of this sim again..

Part of the issue is the 2.5 shots are late in the day, makes everything darker, and mine are high noon, so it makes for a really strong contrast... Assess the value of this sim again.. I agree with you. The way I look at it is I have all of the modules for about the same price as an hour of Jet A for a real L39. DCS is truly a bargain for what it is. I do believe ED could do more to broaden the market though. One way would be to find an intelligent way to lower the barriers to entry in terms of learning / setup in both time and cost that turn away all but the true believers. For example, a simplified version of WWII era combat Another would be to open up the DCS Combat World more, to civilian flight enthusiasts by modeling the world and reducing the barriers of entry for companies willing to build other models for DCS World. Find ways to encourage more people at high level and perhaps DCS could really grow in market share. 6700K@4.6 48Gb - 1080Ti Hybrid - Warthog - RIFT

It always did kinda bug me that they were non-functional. A little side tangent - but in fact in ye-olden days, way before radio navigation aircraft flew over seas at night by way of airway lighthouses... So even though functioning lighthouses would not be at all a priority, they would be a nice nod toward the early days of air-navigation.
