Little AAR from our last flight on Storm of War, featuring Rob, Mother, Bowsewr and me.

We first took off from St-Pierre-du-Mont with the intent of hunting Schnellboots spotted on the Cotentin Peninsula.

Cloud cover near Cherbourg made spotting a bit difficult so we headed North towards the Channel to try to find these ships

We drained our aux tanks after a good half-hour, then switched to the main tank.

After roughly 20 minutes of flight, we dove down below the clouds to try to better spot the fleet, without success.

In hindsight, we suspect the flotilla could've been sighted much further South towards Granville or Mont Saint-Michel.

After a while, we headed back to France South of Les Pieux to track a Telecommunications Centre Northwest of Valognes

We found it a few minutes later, here's Rob and I starting our bombing run

First pass smashed the communications center

We took care of the bunkers next

After a few more passes the whole camp was in ruins. We then headed back to St-Pierre-du-Mont for some well earned R&R. What was meant to be an anti-shipping mission turned into an air-to-ground strike.
