[REPORTED]Wingman taxiing issue/crashing into me

Recommended Posts

Current OB, Mission "Dawn Rider":

After cold start at the Al Minad AB I started taxiing for takeoff to RWY 09. While waiting for the takeoff clearance by ATC my wingman crashed into my back. My Hornet was destroyed after the collision. This happened twice, but I saved only the track of the second attempt.

On my third try I've been taxiing and parked aside half way to RWY. My wingman passed and didn't crash into me.

I've found this thread, where the issue is marked as "ALREADY REPORTED". Why does ED bring such game killing bugs into the stable!?

Will this also fix wingmen crashing into each other when you send them to refuel from a tanker?

Has anyone tested to see if this was cleared up with today's patch? I didn't see anything regarding it in the changelog and unfortunately won't be able to test myself for a bit.

Seems to be fixed. My wingman and another AI aircraft used their brains and didn't crash into me :)

Thx for fixing this issue @ED!

Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be rectified for me. I'm using the update function for DCS found in the start menu- is this correct to update to the latest version? 2.5.6.49798. I still have my A10C wingman crashing into the back of me in Batumi in campaign mode. If I stay out of his way he holds just before the runway but after the wigwags effectively blocking the runway. He also taxis far too fast to make keeping in front impossible while completely checks and flows safely.

My first post on this forum by the way :) Long time user of DCS A10C though and have a solid understanding of the aircraft. Multiplayer is calling soon I think..

Yes that seems to have fixed it here too. Single player A10C at Batumi, no issues with AI remaining a sensible distance behind. Thanks.

It’s been over a month when flying a mission or a joint aircraft takeoff is impossible since the AI keeps crashing into each other.

A MONTH ! Can we please fix this !!!

Could you elaborate a bit more on this rant?

I fly SP only, and although AI definitely needs improvement (which already has been announced WIP by ED), I didn't notice any shocking changes that made AI worse the last couple of months

It's these kind of vague OP rants that usually cause long "popcorn" threads...

This bug was on Open Beta, it was well reported (e.g. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=275727) and then somehow pushed to Stable. OB then moved on and fixed the bug quickly, but there hasn't been a Stable update since.

Curious as to how the UFO flying AI has came along so I put 6 AI P-51s highest level against one 109 loaded down. In 3 out of 4 fights the 109 slaughtered them.

I also noticed that the number of enemy AI critical hits is still WAY to high and most of my bullets are marshmallows.

I don't know if the core issue returned to DCS with the current OB or if it is an issue by mission design, but one of my F-16C wingmen crashed into my back while taxiing to the runway/preparing for takeoff. This happened three times in a row with the same mission.

For description watch

please. A trackfile is available as well (Mission 'King of the Hill' @Syria).

I think the issue is that the wingman taxis too close and tries to go around the leader to "takeoff first". Note on picture 1 how close #2 is compared to #3 and #4. On picture 2, I turned right on a taxiway and #2 continued straight and hitting me.

It would be nice if #2 taxis a little farther back, I think it would avoid most of the collisions.
