SpitFlyer Posted January 14, 2020 Share Posted January 14, 2020 I solved it for me I had a similar thing. I tried the "Delete /Saved Games/.. directory". No joy. I ended up manually editing the "configuration.lua" file ... changed "Full Screen = TRUE" to "Full Screen=FALSE" and it cured the Freeze-at-start problem. I did some more tinkering with settings and changed the Screen Resolution to match exactly the actual native resolution of the display screen. That worked and it opened in a floating window and operated normally. Then I could go back to "Full Screen" and it still worked OK. That was about 3 or 4 weeks ago (after the latest big update)(I'm using the "Release" version, not OpenBeta). BitMaster Posted January 15, 2020 Share Posted January 15, 2020 8 times out of 10, when I start DCS on my laptop (Dell G3 15), it freezes on the first loading screen, with the DCS logo, not with the loading bar. Suddenly the mouse becomes visible and that's it. I have to force shut it down from the task manager. Then try again, and eventually it will open. Any ideas why this happens? Can you disable the onboard Intel iGPU in Bios and only use the dedicated Nvidia GPU ? If so, I'd give that a try and test it. JUICE-AWG Posted January 17, 2020 Share Posted January 17, 2020 I get this sometimes when I alt tab to a different monitor while loading or if I bring up FaceTrackNOIR to launch it...and occasionally, I get the music like it's on the main menu but it's black screen.
