Sorry if I ask a dumb question, but I read the 21 pages and couldn't find an answer to it : I'm far from a specialist, so what modules will be able to take off from the carrier, apart from the Hornet and the Tomcat ?

I really love what I see so far, this carrier is awesome and I'm looking forward to being part of it ! :-)

Every carrier capable aircraft can that is compatible with the US Carrier system.

So, Hornet and Tomcat right now. No Su-33 for the US carriers, but for the russian one (if there will be one)

Can F-14's, one on CAT 1 and, one on CAT 2 with wings fully swept forward be placed simultaneously?

Thanks a lot !

I don't have any of those two modules, so I'm now hoping for a bundle Hornet/Carrier or F14/Carrier...

Wags said that there will be a Hornet/Carrier bundle. Tomcat/Carrier bundle depends on Heatblur, nothing announced so far. Heatblur are also developing their own Forrestal-class Carrier, presumeably with the same deck crew features etc. as the Nimitz class that ED does.

Yes, this should not be a problem.

So as I understood, we will get couple of carriers, not only Stennis?

ED are doing the Nimitz class with the Roosevelt sub-class, so they are including skins for Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71), Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72), George Washington (CVN-73), John C. Stennis (CVN-74), and the Harry S. Truman (CVN-75). Model will be the same, textures will be different.

Heatblur is developing the Forrestal class on its own, but I remember them saying they are working with ED on this, presumeably to include their carrier deck crew and all the others nice things they are developing with this Carrier Module. Heatblur however have said that it will be free for those who have the F-14. Not sure if they will put it on sale seperatly like ED's Supercarrier Module.

Great, so we will have 5 carriers in that module?

Is it possible to have two Tomcats on CAT 1 and CAT 2 with spread wings?

Yes, on full scale carrier, a tomcat on cat 2 could launch before a Tomcat on cat 1, even with both of their wings spread. There is a good 7-8 ft of clearance between them.

My question is what becomes of the two Carriers currently in the game?

The Carl Vinson...Well she looks tired. I don't know when she joined the DCS Fleet but she's definitely not on par with the other Free Carrier.

The John C. Stennis looks pretty good considering she's free. However, two CVN-74s cruising the Persian Gulf might create confusion when the DCS SuperCarrier hits the scene.

SOOooo How about we turn the Carl Vinson into a Museum...or a reef...She's served long and well but she is taking up valuable space on my harddrive.:music_whistling:

Then re-livery the present John C Stennis as the Nimitz, Dwight D. Eisenhower or Carl Vinson?

Good question. They tend to leave the old models for older mission to work.

wonder if any other parts of the island will be implemented, even at later upgrades. Ladders and corridors connecting diferent levels between the Prifly station and the Command Bridge could be definitely interesting .

Looks amazing being the key phrase...

People are kidding themselves,if they think that ED are going to be able to pull off what they have said, at least in any resonable timeframe. There are many fundemental issues related to carriers/ships, which haven't been addressed for a long time (years) and are seemingly being evaded by ED. Fix core problems, before promising VR briefing rooms.

I hope i'm wrong...

Will the deck crew be able to guide you to the catapult shuttle so that we don't have to do it in external mode? I miss having this feature which was last done in Jane's USNF '97.

v6,

If you find a reference point such as alignment with the plate surrounded by caution tape on the right by Cat 1, you don't need to be in an external view to stop properly for hook up. Works for all Cats, just different reference points.

But yeah, guidance by the deck crew would be a plus!

Don't know if posted already, but wave off lights are working on the Stennis, unless Youtuber Magz has a carrier we don't have.

ED could be using the base Stennis to test new features, such as the wave off lights.

Would make sense and gives the people that aren't planning on buying..*cue dramatic music*..Supercarrier...a better experience as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see more features pop up in the months ahead.

Just a question, please don't shoot me...

I seem to recall when pre-purchasing either the F/A-18C Hornet or the Persian Gulf map, in one of them, an incentive was that the new carrier was part of the pre-purchase "incentive" (the new planned Nimitz class carrier with deck crew).

Am I wrong about that, or does that ring any bells with anyone else? Thanks for the reply.

Cheers,

Don
