Mercury_1965
Hi, I have the modules A-10C, A-10CII, F/A-18C, Supercarrier. Flying the A-10C with each of last three updates DCS often crash:mad:. Crashs occurs in different moment, time, actions ... I enclose the last log files. Thx for helpdcs.20201008-015212.log
Flappie
Hi, you seem to have an issue between DCS and your graphics card (DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED). It can be due to overclocking or sometimes to a misplacement of the gfx card in its slot. Do you have an overclocked GPU or an overlocked RAM? You also appear to have a very small pagefile (less than 5 GB). You should try customizing Winfows pagefile, 16 GB min, 32 GB max. 2020-10-08 01:35:44.162 INFO EDTERRAINGRAPHICS41: surface5 gc() LOD 0 71 squares 2020-10-08 01:35:44.163 INFO EDTERRAINGRAPHICS41: surface5 gc() LOD 1 71 squares 2020-10-08 01:35:44.163 INFO EDTERRAINGRAPHICS41: surface5 gc() 3.553500 ms 2020-10-08 01:35:45.808 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: Recording flight data in [C:\Users\gmv\Documents\Tacview\Tacview-20201008-033546-DCS-AMVI-DCS-Preselezione.zip.acmi] 2020-10-08 01:45:39.127 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: During the last 600.0s an average of 0 units objects and 0 ballistic objects have been active per frame 2020-10-08 01:45:39.127 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: The average frame rate of 57.3fps would have been 57.6fps if the flight data recorder was disabled 2020-10-08 01:45:39.127 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: DCS World simulation is taking 99.4% of CPU 2020-10-08 01:45:39.127 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: DCS GetWorldObjects is taking 0.2% of CPU 2020-10-08 01:45:39.127 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: Tacview recorder is taking 0.5% of CPU 2020-10-08 01:52:12.389 ERROR DX11BACKEND: DX device removed. Mercury_1965
Hi Flappie, I increased the page file to 16GB. My graphic card is AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (8GB) I use the las Adrenalin (Radeon software) setting tuning in Automatic -Default mode VRam clock speed is 200Mhz in quiet mode when DCS is running the clock speed increase to 1.750Mhz the max frequency is 1.900Mhz. I will check anyway the graphic card slot. Thanks
Flappie
OK. Adrenalin overclocks your GPU then (base clock is 1605 MHz). If you keep having these crashes despite a 16 GB pagefile and after checking out the slot, please try disabling the Adrenalin automatic overclocking function. DCS is not always keen on overclocking. Let us know how your PC is doing. Don't accept indie game testing requests from friends in Discord. Ever.
Mercury_1965
Hi Flappie, now I'm like this: - page file 16GB (I can go to 32GB it's better ?) - Adrenalin in Autotuning "Default" so no extra Overclock GPU neither Overclock VRAM DCS is running on 4K monitor at 30FPS I enclose the graph setting, if uou have any suggestion to speed a bit .. I tried some mission and all is right .. apparently. I will try soon the exaclty mission where DCS cashed and I will update you.
Flappie
Glad your DCS hasn't crashed yet. My W10 automatically gives a 32GB pagefile whenever I start DCS. This is probably done so because I have 32GB of RAM, ans this seems perfectly logical. Yet I see Windows acting differently to many users and I have no clue why. Often, W10 only lend 4 or 5 GB of pagefile, which seems to piss DCS quite a lot. So yes, you can raise your pagefile min size to 32GB minimum (example: min size = 32GB, max size = 32 GB) as long as the SSD containing your pagefile has enough free space. Until Syria came out, I wouldn't need to optimize my DCS much, because I play at 1920x1200px with a 1080Ti and 32GB of RAM. But now is the time for me to tweak things a little bit, since my FPS drop severely over Syria. My 50 cent: 1/ You have a 4K resolution, which is very precise for the human eye: disable useless GPU post-processing like FXAA, Gamma correction, AA transparency, SSAA, SSLR... 2/ Set your graphics driver to maximize power (instead of optimizing power) and see if you get better FPS. 3/ Read this guide (even if it's a bit old now) if you want to tune DCS graphical options. Try and see if Motion Blur OFF and/or Shadows MEDIUM give you better FPS. Don't accept indie game testing requests from friends in Discord. Ever. Mercury_1965
Hi Flappie, I moved to 32GB! I will follow the advices, and thx for the guide I will read deeply. For the moment no crash :)
Mercury_1965
Hi Flappie, update. DCS don't crash anymore :) I follow the guide and I acheve 60fps but some time I have jerks on the ground images ...

Flappie
OK. How often do you get stutters? Like one episode every 3 minutes, or only when you're looking at things on the ground? Are there many ground units in your missions? In solo or mulriplayer? Don't accept indie game testing requests from friends in Discord. Ever. Mercury_1965
I have feeling as images flow is slow. More accentuated when on the ground there are many object. In solo mode, I haven't checkd in multiplayer

Flappie
I thought it would be there because your log shows you have W10 update 2004, which has introduced this new feature. And I see your PC has a recent AMD driver. Have you already tried emptying both your FXO and Metashaders2 folders, so DCS can renew them? If not, give it a try please. C:\Users\your_name\Saved Games\DCS\fxo C:\Users\your_name\Saved Games\DCS\metashaders2 If the issue persists, please attach a screenshot of your AMD graphics settings. milit
Also I discovered that surface format optimisation should be off. It lowers fps without any visible improvements on my system. =WRAG=345 R7 5800X @ 4,8 GHz; DDR4 32Gb RAM (+32Gb swap); Radeon RX 6800 16Gb; 3840x2160; Win10-
