Since the release of the A8 the Spitfire is the unlucky DCS developer

I see update 33184 does nothing to help with the rudder problem in the Spitfire (Full reverse application on release) for those of us without -or choose not to use - pedals. McPetterson is right. Annoying to say the least on an aircraft a lot of us enjoy and would fly daily if only we could.

I put in a bug report and was advised it is being caused by a "Missing Track", whatever that may mean. Please just fix it!

At the end of every mission you have the option to save the track. ED require that to be attached to any bug report in order to assess and test. So, if they ask for one, then supply it!

imacken...all the track would show is the rudder wagging back and forth...not the input and uncommanded result of full opposite deflection. All they have to do (and anyone else) is put up the Spit, go to out side view of the rudder and press Z or X and watch what happens. That's what I am trying to describe for those of us without pedals.

It seems that since the update 2.5.2.17559 the spit bug has disappeared. It was time, a month to react! But now it seems there is a problem of trakIR

2.5.2.17559? Do you mean 2.5.5.33552?

What is the problem with TrackIR? I can't see any.

oupps

sorry this is the version 2.5.5.33552. the problem of trakIr is perhaps due to the last update of the trakIR It seems that we can get out of the cockpit is a teammate who tells me I'm VR and so I do not have a problem.

The last update to TrackIR? TrackIR software hasn't been updated for 3.5 years!

I was happy too fast, the engine bug is still present I just lost the Spitfire 5mn engine after taking off :(

Can you post a track for this issue? I personally have never had that happen.

BTW...the rudder bug as reported is still there in 33552. Unflyable. Or...un-take-off-able.
You mean too takeoff-able?

I put a video online as well as the trk. I specify that the action happens at the end of the trk

Where to start????

You've repeatedly been given advice regards RPM and Boost settings and yet, despite your claims that you are observing these restrictions, here you demonstrate that you are completely ignoring them.

Mistake #1:

Bursts of 8lb boost to taxi?! You're putting the engine under huge stress right there. Use sufficient throttle to give 1100-1500RPM.

Mistake #2:

Was your oil pressure under 100lb/sq in before takeoff? Certainly didn't look like it to me.

Mistake #3:

Recommended Takeoff Power & RPM: 8lb Boost @ 3000 RPM

Your Takeoff Power & RPM: 18lb(!!!) Boost @ 3000RPM - that's War Emergency Rating

Need I say more?

Mistake #4:

Recommended Climb Power & RPM: 12lb Boost @ 2850 RPM

Your Climb Power & RPM: 18lb Boost @ 3000RPM - again, that's War Emergency Rating

I strongly suggest that you start absorbing some of the good advice you have been given and actually apply it to your Engine Management in game.

Fenrir is right.

Your boost management is all over the place. No wonder you are killing your engine.

Slamming the throttle back and forward like that.. ouch!

At 1:06 . . 21 lb boost right after takeoff, with low airspeed! you're at 21lb boost with 120 mph IAS and the gear is still down!

Furthermore, this is minor, but you really need to get the aircrfat in trim too. It will improve airspeed and get better cooling into the radaitors.

You can't treat this aircraft that way. You're flying well outside of recommended/ prescribed limits.

you can pull 18lbs t/o but you have to force open radiator flaps for sure normaly i use 12lbs boost for t/o than right after t/o i drop rpm to 2850 so i dont need to move thorttle this way.

expecting running this engine 18lbs continous is ridiculous for me.

bug officialy fixed :) it was pilot's bug

Before the update of the A8 I had no problem despite my way of driving ... But I realize that I'm a little brutal :( I'll try to be less violent.

thank you for all

take note that 18lbs boost is eqivalent of 67" in p-51 and this boost kills p-51's engien preaty fast

that indicate that ED did some tweaking in spit engine

right now in A8 you can fly close to 3500rpm with no damage to engine ;)

Don't forget, A8 is still ea and that will probably change.
