I found a simply way to get the AO file:

 

- search for the original F-16 roughmet DDS-files

- konvert these files to BMP (not sure this is required, but I do so)

- now the red channel is the AO file! Its a high contrast black and white map (see below)

 

Furthermore it is a bare file, without any markings, so it is an excellent AO template:

Not sure this works anytime and for any aircraft, but for the F-16 it does.

 

Now you just need to add the green layer (rough part of the F-16 template) and the blue layer (metall part of the F-16 template) and you finally get a proper roughmet file.

The pylons are not contained in the main templates nor are the fuel tanks.

Is there a way to assign separate textures for each 370 gal tanks?

I remember doing that with skatezilla's F5e wingtip tanks mod.

Yes, I use the dss file from another livery for the tanks. Where he found the template, I can't say. I think it's a pity that the tanks and mounting were not delivered with it.

No, this loads the same texture on both 370gal tanks.

You would have to copy/paste the model and all the data for the 370 and add another to the database and aircraft. Tank_370 and Tank_370_2 for example.

Usually yes, many have a "DO NOT PAINT" on them

But apparently sometimes they just paint them anyway

I think l’ll use that first pic to change my stencils.

Especially the different colour around the gun nozzle. Etc.

Also, I put up some psd’s for the tanks & pylons.

They’re far from perfect, but they might do for now.

Hello Everyone,

I'm having difficulties with exporting the "Main_2_Template" PSD file to a DDS file. I'm using Photoshop with the Nvidia plug-in and applying the DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp / interpolated alpha settings. The resulting DDS file is very dark in comparison to the original PSD template as displayed in the Model Viewer. All of the other F-16C PSD templates seem to come through the export satisfactory except for F16_bl50_Main_2_Template.psd. The attached images display the original template, the export settings, the resulting DDS file, and the livery as seen in the Model Viewer. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
