Default GTX 1080 to GTX 2080 Ti, worth it?

Hi all,

I have a I7 6700k, Gtx 1080 , in your opinion switching from 1080 to a 2080 Ti would be worth it with DCS? (with Rift S)

I mean better definition , FPS, etc.

Thank you!

it depends on what you expect.
Yes, higher fps and prolly higher settings, but the price you have to pay for that is ridiculous.
I would wait for the next generation of GPUs (which I assume will be even more expensive).
As long as there is no competitor for Nvidia, we will have to pay...

That's what I am doing. I've had my 1080ti for two years now and it's served me well. I will wait until the next series which may be in the spring of 2020. I also think they will be expensive and we will pay through the nose but that's because there is competition at the low and mid range, just not at the top end.

For Rift S there is no reason to upgrade to 2080ti imho. 2080ti is still not powerful enough to run dcs at 80 fps (with pd 1.5 and MSAAx2).

I was looking forward for that VR performance patch, but it didn’t seem to have made any change. But again, I have been gone for a while and might be missing something

It's not the GPU, the problem is DCS is unable to make use of our new CPUs and thus won't ever reach high fps.
It's a problem with the game so we must simply wait for ED to rebuild their engine from scratch...

That's going to need more than two weeks..
