One question after flying a little bit yesterday between Sochi and Sukhumi :

 

 

are there the runway markings (white stripes) and taxiway markings (yellow lines) missing or is it just on my side? Have not checked other airports yet.

Now that is interesting. I've just checked it really quickly and there are markings on my side - take a look: https://imgur.com/a/eN6dcre. Did you have other mods installed before activating this one?

I tried several ground texture mods but all were installed and uninstalled using JSGME so technuically there should be no "left-overs".

 

I am currently @ my rig and will test again and report back the results.

Unfortunately it's a bug and affect unedited (no mods) DCS too. (i noticed since last openbeta update)

Runway/taxiway markings invisible in 30% approx. (of numbers when we run DCS)

Markings disappear in the MissionEditor as well.

Very noticable upgrade that gives new life to the good old Caucasus map!

(I am testing it with Mustang's shaders mod and Taz1004 trees).

 

One thing that was a bit strange to me is the obvious lack of snow on mountains, comapred to vanilla, and especially in winter time, on the Elbrus mountain for example....

rest of the seasons looks pretty much lacking of snow, looks almost the same to me (snow wise).

 

I'm attaching 2 pictures, vanilla and your mod on the same date on the Elbrus.

Maybe we can have more snow here please?? :smilewink:

If not to much asked for, could we please have some more snow? About 1.5-2 meters in thickness would be sufficient in urban areas...please-please-please-please...

I've replaced it in summer and Autumn.

Now they all look the same no matter the season.

 

I was looking to control the amount of snow in relation to its season.

i.e. highest amount of snow in winter less in summer , and in between in spring and autumn.

Is it possible this "simple" way? or only an artist like Barthek can manipulate it?..

Yes, sorry winter uses a generic landnoise.tif as its the same texture everywhere. :doh:

 

You can use a different snownoise.tif texture for summer and spring for example to show the amount of snow and bare ground per tile.

For example you could use Barthek's for Summer, Mustang's for Spring and Default for autumn or you can crate your own if you know how.

 

Then I believe you can alter the snow line level for each season in terrain.cfg file.

I've not tried this so you will have to look for the appropriate entry's and experiment.
