Question about the new DRM

Hammer1-1

I see in the announcements that the A-10C has been moved to the digital DRM. I purchased the A-10C DVD a few years ago without buying it online. Can we expect these serials to move to the online DRM as well?

I assume the process will be the same it's been with the old DRM.

Maybe so, but my A-10C serial doesnt show up in my order cart. It only shows serials in the module page only.

I initially purchased the A-10C on a DVD a while ago (2012) and was later able to port it into Steam (last year) using the Key that came on the DVD box. It seems to work fine for me.

System HW: i9-9900K @5ghz, MSI 11GB RTX-2080-Ti Trio, G-Skill 32GB RAM, Reverb HMD, Steam VR, TM Warthog Hotas Stick & Throttle, TM F/A-18 Stick grip add-on, TM TFRP pedals. SW: 2.5.6 OB

  • ED Team

As long as you have linked your key to your ED account you are fine.

The new keyless DRM will apply to your A-10C via your account login.

So as it stands now, I no longer have to enter this key into Starforce if I am forced to reinstall windows?

Same question I have. Are we no longer on Starforce? Do we not need a key now? So confused.

AFAIK if the module has/is upgraded to "keyless" DRM in 2.5.6.x, you won't need your "Starforce"

key when reinstalling or moving your 2.5.6 install.

However if you ever decide to install a legacy DCS version 1.2.16, 1.5.6, 2.5.5, etc. that pre-dates a module's switch to "keyless" DRM, you'll need to manage/enter the older "Starforce" key(s) as previous.

As I have 1.2.16 and 1.5.6 legacy standalone installs along side my main Steam "Open Beta" install - I won't be deactivating my "Starforce" keys just yet.

YMMV.
