Yeah, oh man, I had a 20" blower fan facing the open tower to cool my SLI Voodoo2's, along with a G400 Matrox. That was smooth as hell.

Hehe, ah yes, memory lane. One that comes to mind is the Voodoo 5 6000, every gamers wet dream back then.

Never had one of those myself, but I did go trough a few different Voodoo 2, 3 and 4, once they were old and cheap. Ran them on a secondary PC, just for curiosity, along with other various cards that I didnt run on my main PC.

Over time Ive had so many different cards trough my machines, that its hard to even remember them all. One that sticks out for me, is the Matrox Millennium 4mb, that I had with a VL-Bus interface. Would have been around 1994-5, my first expensive graphics card purchase, to be used with 3D Studio (before it was Max) :D.

- Jack of many DCS modules, master of none.

- Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS.

They made some strange boards back then with that multichip design.

Basically, the idea of a 2D and 3D chip that engage either one depending on whatÄ's needed...is really OLD SCHOOL, I mean, we used the Matrox to boot MS-DOS and then kicked in the Voodoo's to go flying without jaggies at 800x600 and 2 x 16MB or was it 32MB VRAM.

That was the first time I learned that not all PSU's are created equal HAHA !!

thats the first card I had. I remember after I installed it and booted up Unreal and Falcon 4. My head almost exploded it looked so damn good, relatively speaking. It was on the Glide API. After that I think I got a TNT2 card since Glide was pretty much dead.

I remember buying a Voodo card circa 1998-99.

I played Colin McRae rally and NFS Hot Pursuit. However, I got a BSOD every now and then, because of driver issues.

That´s when I asked my parents about hiring on a monthly Internet service. Once we got the net up, updated the drivers and never looked back to 2D gaming lol.
