After the Tomcat?

On the deck? Nah

It did indeed fly a bit higher. Though it was pretty fast on the deck also, but had a tendency roll over and kill it's pilots when doing that... Later down the line that issue was fixed.

You are not about to give up now, are you ? :)

Never! Or at least not as long as a Tornado seems possible or even likely ;)

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Tornado is a must! Without it us Germans are only half complete :joystick:

Even if it's a british Tonka?

As long as it's not an ADV I'm happy :music_whistling:

I like your thinking :D

IMHO, last version of ADV F3 was a powerful machine.

Yes, but very limited in what it can do. Apart from interceptions there is pretty much nothing it could be used for. The Tornado was not really made for A-A (maneuverability!). It can defend itself pretty well for a Bomber though (much better than the F-111), especially with IRIS-T missiles :D

I understand what you mean, but I do not very much agree that F3 is so limited: for example, although it is a pure interceptor, it can use ALARM missiles for SEAD missions.

However, it is not arguable that it is an aircraft born for the A2G role.

BONE - B1 bomber (“B-ONE” - get it?)

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Funny story, 7 July 1985 SAC received it's first operational B-1B, 83-0065 The Star of Abilene, the local news paper ran a big front page article about the arrival and spelled out B-1, but forgot the hyphen, hence the Bone was born, or at least that was the story the MSgt's told the Lt's back in the day.

That would be pretty nice as well. I don't know why I had a brain freeze and didn't think of that one as well. I know a lot of people have been begging for it for years on here.

Here's some pretty nice wallpaper for you also:

An Australian C model, they had fun toys, AGM-142, Harpoon, Pave Tack and supposedly they could do HARM's.

If anyone thinks about a good Soviet Cold war bird, why not the Su-15 Flaggon?

1+!

The Su-15 would indeed be an awesome bird to learn, and would also provide the perfect opponent for aircraft like the Viggen. Since it was an interceptor, it would create a fun asymmetric-play situation with the Viggen (and hopefully Tornado).

The MiG-21 is more of a fighter anyway, since it never had MRM's. But in a dogfight it was a force to be reckoned with (the Bis, not so much). So the Su-15 would provide interesting gameplay for both it and the Viggen or hopefully the Tornado - trying to acquire and engage them with the older medium range weapon systems, while they try to mask and stay hidden, making their way closer to a tactical target. It would be an interesting situation for both. Now throw in a proper map, proper escorts (we are already getting those), and a RED side striker - say, Su-17/22. We would have a truly awesome package on our hands!

Though that's all just wishful thinking and dreams. And as widely proven those don't lead anywhere.

What escorts are we getting for Red side?

Considering the Jester AI and the Forrestal-class carrier being developed with this module, I've got fingers crossed for the Navy/USMC F-4 Phantom phamily, the F-4B/J/N/S. I'm also hoping for the A-6 Intruder, A, B, E, and TRAM, with an AI KA-6D to plug into. And maybe a new terrain to fly these jets over. Somewhere hot, green, and rainy.
