Swedish map?

I couldn't find any news about whether a Swedish map was being made for the AJS-37 Viggen.

Is there one being made? If not, why not? It doesn't seem to have been operated outside Sweden. (according to Wikipedia, anyways, so if I'm wrong, let me know.)

So, Heatblur has nothing to announce as far as maps are concerned, but it is not a dead project either. Good to hear that.

Glad to know I'm not the only one interested in a Baltic map. I keep hoping for some kind of a 1980's free for all with Tornado & Viggen flying strikes at 10m AGL. None of the other maps really punches the button for a Cold War showdown like that. It would also work great for a WW2 format (once there are some 1940's Soviet platforms.)

Yeah, that would be awesom flying around at home in Viggen, or any modul in dcsI'm from northern Sweden to, not far from lulea

Piteå (Kullbacken outside Hortlax) in my case, Kallax controlled airspace (?) southern entry point was somewhere above our house so there were many times we could see Viggen 2/4-ships flying over.

I'm quite desperate for a nice Sweden map. It's rather hard to enjoy the Viggen properly on the Caucasus map or above the desert. It just doesn't look and feel right. I really hope we can have a Sweden map in the not-to-distant future. Maybe as part of a greater scheme --> AI Draken --> Sweden assets

I kinda feel that a Sweden map is very much coming...thats the only real reason i can come up with why the Viggen main campaign has not been released yet. The module went into early access two years ago. So there must be some bigger reason why the campaign is still in lacking...i.e. Sweden map. I could imagine that the Sweden map will be paid, but owners of the Viggen will be able to play the campaign on this new map at no additional cost.

A Swedish map would of course be awesome and fit in nicely into a cold war scenario as well as modern scenario.

The Baltic sea was and is an area where Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Russia, US, France etc. with different assets are present on a daily basis.

+1 for Swedish map. Need some Cold war locations. It's great for so many different types of action, that aren't directly related to "Sweden" specifically, just as a cold war front line. Great flying scenery, lots of coastline, lots of water and open sea, an EAST coast to use on a map (damn i've twisted that west coast on Caucasus every which way but cannot invert it).

I remember a post from Heatblur several months back stating that the Baltic map was on hold. I would not keep high hopes for a Baltic theater coming soon.

They wanted to finish the Viggen in 2018. Even that didn't pan out, so I think the Baltic map is on hold for some more time to come.

That's usually the case with software development and "plans" or release targets. Rerely do they pan out to be on time. Not a big deal though. I agree a baltic map would be really aswesome even by today's standards, given that there are several militare exercises in said area.
