Echo38
Inbound for landing with a right turbine failure and a damaged left, hit the runway pretty hard, all seemed ok in cockpit.. Heaving on the brakes slowing up.. Once I got to about 20-30 knots the nose started to pitch up.. I'd hit the brakes and the nose would pitch down slamming the already busted front tire into the ground. After stopping on the runway with the nose pitched in the air, I see how the L&R gear were bent forwards. Center of gravity is past the back of the L&R gear wheels.. Great physics This is why the aircraft acts like a taildragger airplane when you I a belly landing, isn't it? It's why the tail wants to swing out, and why my off-runway belly landings usually end up in a cartwheel. It's because the gear being forward when retracted causes the center of gravity to shift behind the wheels, right?

Echo38
Yeah, it's a necro', but this was the only thread I could find with the forum search which had any mention of center of gravity, oddly enough.
