Default It's mainly a matter of how often somebody flies ...

... and some little leisure for experimenting around with lines and shortcuts ...

That's my new time: 3m 50.5s

OMG, I never thought I would come into these regions with this old stick here.
Last week I thought the guys are cheating somehow, but now I understand that - even with my older equipment - a time around 3:50.0 is possible, and not so far away.

I found some "paths" on the surface of the earth and follow them once I remember them as working.
What is really helping me is the fast machine I got.
It gives me around 90 frames, which I consider the second most important thing for this job here.

This evening I made a video of a flight which was 3m 51.8, but ... I think I will NOT distribute it at this very time.
Don't think I am a maniac, but I made it for any possible discussion if somebody would state that we are cheating here, and this video - since the f.u.c.k.i.n.g TRK files dont work - is the evidence for eternity

Good job there TOViper

You are right, times previously thought impossible become possible through regular practice, finding the fastest lines, and endless runs and reruns.

BTW I too record video of all my times

And so, my new time..... 3:47.80

Would you say that the first U-turn at Waypoint 6 (I believe it is 6) is the most critical one in this loop?
I spent (at least) 100 flights there to optimize the line, but I pass it with maximum of 450 knots, and then pass not earlier than at 1:15.5 at the next waypoint, no matter what I do.

Difficult to comment on a single waypoint time because so much is dependant on the previous turns... If you have a good speed leading into this turn then of course speed is better, and also waypoint times. For a good time I like to have 'at least' 460knts coming out of this.

Waypoint 3 = 52.7 (ish)
Waypoint 4 = 56.5 (ish)
Waypoint 5 = 1:3.6 (ish)
gives me waypoint 6 = 1:14.2 (on a good run anyway)

This is great sportsmanship, Mick You'll make an excellent winner.
(Of course, that doesn't mean I'm giving up! )

Thanks chicomick for you answers!

Still working on waypoint 5-7, but no big progress there.
But I found one new linie (by accident) at waypoint 13, which can be flown in an extreme shortcut, you just have to know this and you save 1 second at least.

3m50.1 is my new time, despite having 1m15.4 at waypoint 6.

One run before I had 3m49.7, but in my panic I crashed into ground in the target area, so no screenshot (just one of the freaking radar that turns on his engine ...) arrrghhh
OK, no more crying around, this 3m47 I will beat for sure.
You already feel the heat?

3m49.8 is my new time.

Thanks to the new line at waypoint 13. Still weak at wp4-wp6.
Unsure what I am doing wrong there. Fu..
I think I will lessen the input on the pitch-axis with another curvature.
Maybe a curved one works better than the linear.

cy@ later

Update:
After crashing 10 times at my last 10 attempts using my new input curves... I managed to confirm 3m51 at least once. What I can see is that in some turns I don't waste so much energy than before, but turning into the turns comes a little too late. I think it will take another 40 flights to get this work (or 400, who knows). The weather report says that a storm with rain is coming this weekend ... HMMMMMM

After many, many attempts, I have managed to break my 1:50.6 curse. Although I've still got some work to do. Either way, I've managed to get down to 3:49.6

Also on a plus note according to the logbook, I'm at about 12 hours on this so far.

Holy smokes, gentlemen! I don't have time enough to even come close.

Too bad.

Really seems that there is still more seconds to be squeezed out of the track. Crazy!
