I am very pleased to announce the 39th Virtual Fighter Squadron:

cFpok3Q.jpg

Presented by Invisibull (39th Sqdn. Leader) and SeaQuark (host of KOREA! 1952).

We are a virtual 1950s USAF Fighter Squadron operating out of Nellis Air Force Base (DCS 2.0) and Suwon, Korea (DCS 1.5).

The 39th is for any DCS players who wish to take their skills in the F-86 Sabre to the next level in a respectful, friendly environment. We emphasize teamwork, formation integrity, mutual support, and historical accuracy. Realism & immersion are very important to us, but we will never take it too far or to the point of being obnoxious.

We primarily fly the Sabre, but there is also room for F-51 Mustang pilots to serve in Air-to-Ground and Reconnaissance capacities.

TlG9Ffc.jpg

Our Standard Operating Procedures (PDF) are available to the public. If you wish to join, read through them carefully; they will give you a great idea of whether or not our squadron is right for you. Then simply apply for membership through the "Recruitment" page on our website: http://www.39thvfs.com

And feel free to say hi on our Discord server anytime:

https://discord.gg/tVFWwnX

Training missions will be flown out of Nellis AFB, on Invisibull's dedicated NTTR training server. Once you demonstrate a basic level of proficiency, you will be accepted as a provisional member of the 39th.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • F-86 Sabre (or P-51 Mustang)
  • SimpleRadio
  • Read the SOPs
  • Discord (chat program, great for keeping in touch / arranging flights)

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:

  • DCS 2.0 + NTTR-- if you don't have NTTR, you can still fly with us on Korea, but you will miss out on many group training flights & activities.

Note that membership in the 39th is non-exclusive. If you wish to fly other planes with other groups-- we have no objections. Our goal is simply to provide a "clubhouse," effective teaching resources, and a roster of good wingmen for anyone who loves flying the Sabre.

NOTICE: To all MiG-15 pilots, consider this announcement an open challenge! If you have the necessary skills & inclination, form your own squadron, and we shall meet you in the skies over Korea, in the spirit of friendly competition!

I'm surprised the moderators have not advised on the postings of late. This thread is to advertise your Squadron only. If you are looking for one, you need to look through this and contact the Squadrons in which may be of interest to you. When the subscribers to this thread get a notice, they expect that a new squadron has developed or an older one has changed or upgraded etc.

ppl will post without reading the first post always.

A long time ago I suggested to instead create a Squadron directory and let every squadron have their own thread. I thought that would be a good idea but nothing happened so maybe not. Would be better organized that way I believe. Something like what the 3rd parties have. :)

Carrier Air Wing Eleven

VCVW-11 is now recruiting !

I've been waiting till we have some definite news for the Tomcat and/or Hornet projects to openly advertise. Virtual Carrier Air Wing Eleven will be openly recruiting starting now for DCS World's carrier borne aircraft. I have 20 years of flight sim experience and leadership of VF-213 in VNAO way back in FC1 and FC2. Most of us have never stopped flying DCS and we have some returners since the naval aviation is about to be a real thing in DCS World, YAY !

Our website is https://www.vcvw-11.com (Is mostly finished)

Teamspeak and Discord information is on the forums on our site.

We are primarily based in North America but we already have applicants from Australia and Europe !

We will have for starters VF-213 "Black Lions", VMFA-232 "Red Devils" for our marine corps brethren, and VFA-154 "Black Knights", as well as the VT-22 "Golden Eagles" for our new pilots to earn their navy wings !

VF-213 will fly Hornets until the tomcats show up then transition. We will also have a Harrier squadron flying off of the Tarawa that is still TBD as far as which Marine Corps squadron we decide to have and how much interest there is in it.

We will be a realism focused air wing taking pride in *simulated* military precision, carrier qualifications, greenie boards and everything in between. We have been doing this a very long time. If this sounds like fun to you please visit the website and apply today !

No experience required we will train anyone, sim veterans welcome !

We are currently making changes to incorporate DCS as our main platform. At this time we are currently looking for flight crews to fill key positions within the Fleet. If your interested, please visit us at http://www.virtualatlanticfleet.net

As we grow our group within DCS World we will begin filling positions within VFA-131(F/A-18C and VMA-223 (AV-8B). Currently, some of our pilots are qualifying in the F-5E while they await the DCS Hornet release. Qualified pilots are encouraged to complete the BFM/ACM Training and apply to VC-13 to act as Navy aggressors.

Changes include:

• All new webpage

• Incorporation all primary flight operations with DCS.

• Virtual Atlantic Fleet will not only include Carrier Operations of CVN69 (CVW3) as part of Carrier Strike Group 10 but also incorporates

  • USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) including VMA-223 “Bulldogs” AV-8B’s

  • Atlantic Fleet Replacement Squadron VFA-106

  • Navy Adversary Squadron VC-13 “Saints”

• Career opportunities of Full time or Reservist time requirements

• Incorporation of dedicated JTAC operations in the near future.

• Real-time CATCC operations during carrier operations.

With all the changes that have been Implemented we are mostly excited by our new addition of VFA-106 the primary Fleet Replacement Squadron for the Atlantic Fleet.

  • Completely redesigned F/A-18 training program following the NAVMC 3500 as close as we can get. To include

    • Training modules with exams.

Sorry, didn't readily see answers to the questions from the link. It's a nice promotion above but no times when you'd be flying which would be immediately helpful for anyone interested in joining.

Sorry flycat2

At work and just saw this. anyways I updated the post to give and indication on flights times.

The DEMONS

809014595_demonsoriginallargeposter.jpg.f1c1a18ffdb5d07f5f643b90846c35b8.jpg

Hello Virtual Pilot,

We are a friendly, small group of DCS enthusiasts who fly our own built missions and as a team on public servers. We are based around 0 Zulu (GMT) time zone.

A wide range of modules are owned and flown through the Squadron from WW2,helicopters to the modern jets. We aim to be effective in a multiple of roles and enjoy the variety of piloting and functions that DCS offers.

The ethos of the group is fun, structured flying without being too serious, but serious enough to have a realistic/authentic feel. Our aim is to improve teamwork, become a effective fighting group, but most of all, to enjoy the flying.

We are presently recruiting new members who want to fly at least a squadron session a week-learn modules, fly missions, train to become a effective member and share friendly banter or information on DCS.

Beginners to seasoned veterans are very welcome to apply. Experience or ability are not as important as enthusiasm to be involved and a friendly nature. We are happy to help anyone who requires assistance and expect members of the group to support each other as it''s the Demons ethos. We only require you to have a joystick and mic.

If you are interested, please private message me through this forum, with your name or callsign,DCS experience, modules owned, favourite module or modules, time zone, and any other information you feel is relevant.

Coming soon for Korea (1952), 21st IAP.

To be flying the Mig15 on the Korea 1952 server...

The DiD (Dead is Dead) concept.

At its conception in 1999 the typical mode of online play was basically 'team death match' or 'air quake' as we came to call it, where the pilots from both sides would take off and fly a short distance directly to the known area of combat.

While this was fun and honed the talents and abilities of the first online sim pilots, it soon became stale, offering as it did no greater 'purpose' than triumphing in one-to-one combats.

It was while reflecting upon this lack of purpose I formulated the DiD concept, which was to both foster a more realistic regard for ones virtual life and offer a framework within which it could matter.

The core principle is very simple, and now seems obvious; to reward pilots for their achievements within a realistic online environment and apply a realistic outcome to death or capture.

To whit, awards and recognition for successful sorties, displayed publically on a unit website, with the loss of all of them if captured or killed in combat.

From this followed the neccessary 'Pilot Persona System', where the player chooses a persona name under which he flies and gains his awards until/if captured or killed.

In its heyday this system was used with over 200 active members in an online war that ran missions daily for over a year with the original Ilyushin 2 and subsequent Forgotten Battles.

It's obviously not for everyone. While many pilots avoid air quake and seek greater immersion online by choosing to play on servers that offer a broadly realistic environment, some do not have the time and/or inclination to go the extra distance required for maintaining a persona.

But for those who do it's being offered here in the latest iteration of the DiD concept, with the 21st IAP.

If anyone is interested in this please let me know, it'll determine whether I go with a paid or free domain-host for the website I've made for the unit.

TIA. :)

VFA-34 Blue Blasters (F/A-18C)

Strike_Fighter_Squadron_34_%28US_Navy%29_insignia_1999.png

VFA-34 Blue Blasters

VFA-34 is an F/A-18C squadron based on the real life Blue Basters.

We are a smaller squadron looking for Hornet drivers to join our ranks who can be reasonably active and commit to realistic operations as a squadron.

There is no experience required to join, we are happy to take new members of any background as long as you are willing to put in the effort to learn and set aside some time to fly with us.

We are a US based squadron and typically operate in the evening time. We support a structure where members can enjoy a more relaxed environment while trying to accommodate people's schedules. If you are looking to fly with a squadron to fly with that does not come with an enormous commitment, consider enlisting in the Blue Blasters!

Feel free to come join our discord and chat with us if you're interested in joining VFA-34! (Or PM me as an alternative method to contact us with any questions).
