Simicro
Hello SilentSierra, Aluminum Donkey gave excellent and wise advice  Try to get a GTX 980 Ti on the second hand market is the best value for money IMHO in your case. Regarding CPU, you (we) have a good one. Have you overccloked it? I did not see you replying. - Tony - . My Reviews: Oilfield Campaign - Argo Campaign l My Mission: Huey Ramp Start Voice-Over New! . SilentSierra
I never purchased this kind of product second hand, there's no warranty and still expensive. Don't worry, I found one model of GTX 1070 for a "good" price, comparing others online stores. I can pay for it, but it will be the most expensive piece of hardware of my life. I think there's a lot of people mining cryptocurrencies and the prices increased for everybody. RUS38
I know some people in USA, but Brazil has huge budget deficit, they are taxing everything they could, including sendings as gifts. The flight simulators are very expensive hobby and thats it's my problem, I know. I'm a frustrated pilot like most people here and I had no problem to put some money to entertain myself with these stuffs. The ED did a great job creating this level of simulation in DCS 2.5 and I want to run this beauty like the screenshots. I would sell you my Strix 980ti for like $500 if 2080ti was out now, cause that's what I'm waiting for. Send it out like it's something for repairs or whatever (meaning that it's not some purchased goods and you shouldn't be taxed and charged any import duties that would be just plain silly) 980ti actually shows same performance and sometimes even better than 1070 so I as others mentioned just find a second hand 980ti if you can locally. Nealius
Updated to a 4GB card so I could run 1.5 and 2.2 at max settings, only to now need an 8GB card to run 2.5 at the same settings as I ran in 1.5 and 2.2.....while graphics cards are at peak prices thanks to cryptominers. "It will run the same as 2.2," they said. Wonderful.
sslechta
Some of the card manufacturers will allow you to buy a single card at normal price. EVGA's NVIDIA cards are one I know that does that. Nealius
How do you source them at that price? Here in Japan on Amazon the cheapest EVGA 1070 I can find is $730, which is absurd considering my entire rig that ran 1.5.8 on max cost that much. Oban
FWIW, the 1070i isn't any cheaper in Thailand either AMD Ryzen 9 7845HX with Radeon Graphics 3.00 GHz 32 GB RAM 2 TB SSD RTX 4070 8GB Windows 11 64 bit
Nealius
The price jump from 4GB to 8GB is pretty large. My 1050 was only about $150, and is still priced about that. Are cryptominers only going for 8GB cards?
Oban
I've no idea tbh, but I'm the same mind as yourself, a 1070i cost more than my current rig, which has a 4gb 970, which actually does perform not too bad fully maxed (apart from civi traffic). My laptop has better specs than this dinosaur (i5 4460 @320mhz and GTX970) The asus has an i7, and a 1050 plus 32 GB ram, so will use that for DCS when I'm off back overseas at the weekend. sslechta
In the case of EVGA, just go to EVGA.com and price the card you want there. It will be cheaper than the retailers escalated prices. Nealius
Japanese EVGA site doesn't list prices or let you order. The US site has them listed at only $100 cheaper than Japan, but shipping would eat about half that.

The US site has them listed at only $100 cheaper than Japan, but shipping would eat about half that. Why do you believe you need more than 4GB VRAM? What resolution are you running? 4K? Nealius
1080p. My 4GB card isn't running DCS well with 2x AA. I figured 8GB would fix that.
