I am not clear? I am able to position the panel onto the 2nd monitor, but once the DCS module loads about half way, the panel moves from the small monitor to the main monitor where DCS is? Why does the Ikarus panel move when the dcs module is loading? The answer to that should solve this? Thanks

1st picture is Monitor Config

2nd picture is showing Ikarus running fine on correct monitor

3rd picture shows that ikarus moved to incorrect monitor once DCS module loads

I also have two monitors and had issues with the monitor numbers. It turned out that the HDMI and DVI ports fought with each other as to whom was i and 2 until I just gave up and found a HDMI to DVI cable so both monitors used DVI.

I then put the monitors side by side in the Windows display with 1 on the left and 2 on the right even though physically, 1 was on top and 2 was on the bottom.

When Ikarus loaded, I just moved the panel to 2 and all was fine.

I don't know if any of this will help you.

PS Monitor 1 is my main monitor for windows.

How easy it can be to have pictures speak. That has nothing to do with Ikarus. That's a completely different problem.

But I have not seen anything like that. What do I see on the edges for text markers? They are not from Ikarus or DCS. Did you do that yourself?

@Fakum: Try to set the main monitor in the Nvidia Control Panel!

http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3148/~/how-to-set-up-multiple-monitors

Moving the Ikarus panel looks more like a problem with the monitor settings. Maybe you look again in the settings, if the view is just like in picture 3, maybe you can see that something has changed.

Are you sure that there is nothing in your coding that would cause Ikarus to switch from the 2nd monitor to the primary when a module is loaded? Or maybe something in your coding that can be changed to allow monitor 2 to be used instead of just number 1?

I have attached a screen shot of NVIDIA control panel, as you can see, the main monitor 2 is primary, and I cannot reassign the numbers in there either.

Sobe, I appreciate the feedback, and it seems you are correct. My only problem is that my main 30” monitor can only be interfaces with Dual Link DVI. My 2nd monitor can be interfaced with DVI & HDMI. It seems that if anything that is connected to my GPU on HDMI or Display port will be prioritized over DVI-D. I will have to see if there is such a connector to convert from Display Port 1.2 to DVD-D for my main monitor? This is not my area of expertise, so I have some research to do. I sure hope I don’t have to but another 30” monitor. Or maybe they can look at the coding of Ikarus and allow Monitor 2 to be used? Im no coder either, but something unknown to me allows me to put Ikarus on my 2nd monitor, but it shoots off to the main monitor once a module loads in DCS???

I said " found a HDMI to DVI cable so both monitors used DVI" and it wrong. I actually found a DVI to HDMI converter so both monitors had their DVI connectors used, but on the video card, it was DVI>DVI and DVI>DVI to HDMI conveter>HDMI as the card only had one DVI port but lots of HDMI ports.

Well,, I discovered that since my monitor runs at 2560x1600, not just any converter will do. Most will not handle that resolution. They do sell ones that will convert to DVI-D to accommodate such a high resolution, but I have not found any less than $100. So that is not a viable solution unfortunatly.

Yes, I am very sure. I only use what Windows gives me. So only X / Y positions. Monitors do not matter to me.

You can also position any panel outside of your Monitors. That's really pointless, but possible with Ikarus.

hhhmmm ... before you start DCS, everything is OK. It could be due to the Monitor.lua you use. Upload that.

Yes, before I start DCS, everything is fine. You may be on to something though. But, in DCS, I have my resolution set to 2560 x 1600 and the monitor is set to 1 monitor, so it uses the DCS default monitor.lua. I am not using a custom monitor.lua for Icarus. Should I be?

Send me the Ikarus log. Do it the way you did before. Start Ikarus. Load the 2D cockpit. Start DCS and start a fly. Then go to Ikarus -> Tab Log copy the text and send it here.

I see your problem. The file named with 5.ikarus. That can not work. Because Ikarus loads the files with the name that are sent by DCS. I have written that before.

16:50:12.603 DCS start command for modul: AV8BNA

16:50:12.654 Read file to dataset: AV8BNA.ikarus

16:50:12.700 Read file to dataset: AV8BNA.xml

Please have a look at the log. That's not for nothing.

Give your file the name "AV8BNA.ikarus" instead of "5.ikarus".

hmmm,,, ok. I did see the instructions anywhere that I could not name the file whatever I wanted. I am sorry. Every time I changed the coordinates, I knew I had to save the file. I did not want to disturb the original, so every time I made a change, I simply used a number representing the version.

So, I can NOT change the original file names, Got it. I also am not a coder, so i have no idea how to interpret that log as I dont know what the functions are for each line.So it really was meaningless to me (at the time).

I appreciate the help, I learned something today. Cant wait to get this profile functioning now. Many thanks sir.

I have a custom P-51D Ikarus profile that displays instruments on my 2 LCD instrument displays; however I can not get the P51FuelQFuselage gage to function. Here are Instrumentfunction data

0.0,0.12,0.28,0.40,0.51,0.62,0.72,0.83,0.96,1.00 0.0,0.12,0.28,0.40,0.51,0.62,0.72,0.83,0.96,1.00

Any help available? All other instruments work flawlessly. Great utility! DCSW 2.5 and Ikarus download of Apr 2018.

I just read through the WIKI page again, but did not see any instruction on this, sorry.

I was unable to find a location to adjust the X & Y axis for both MPCD's EXPORT data for the AV8BNA Beta Profile? I am able to export it to the monitor, but its only pops up on the main gaming screen. I need to relocate it to the Ikarus panel. All buttons etc are fine Thank you sir.

If you want to implement something like that, then you need your own Monitor.lua. In many cases you even have to change the Init.lua of an instrument. But it is feasible. Search in the forum ;-)

I dont think Im trying to implement anything that is not expected? when I run Ikarus, I need the DATA to show up where it is assigned to show up. Perhaps I am not understanding what the expectations are here?

With great respect, does anyone know how to get this data to show up on the Ikarus panel where it needs to? If not, I might be able to figure out what I need to do by referring to a Helios monitor config I have. I was not clear that I had to make one for Ikarus. Thanks for any help. Ikarus is looking very good, cant wait to get it working as needed.
