Jumbik
I'm interested in how these GPU handle DCS. I have a new freesync monitor I would like to use fully and I'm considering buying Vega 64. I'm well aware of the differences to 1080ti. I just want to know some first hand experience from someone who already have it. Thank you. Do, or do not, there is no try. -------------------------------------------------------- Sapphire Nitro+ Rx Vega 64, i7 4790K ... etc. etc.

Polo
I'm interested in how these GPU handle DCS. I have a new freesync monitor I would like to use fully and I'm considering buying Vega 64. I'm well aware of the differences to 1080ti. I just want to know some first hand experience from someone who already have it. Thank you. I've been running one since late last year. For DCS it does pretty well, FPS lower than some of the numbers quoted for the 1080ti but that's with everything turned up. Running on a FreeSync monitor was pretty sweet. On the HTC Vive in VR with Kegetys' VR Shader mod in the F/A-18 I'm on 45fps most of the time with a few drops to 30-35fps. This is with most items turned up to High, visual range on High, 4xMSAA. It easily handles everything else I throw it at 3440x1440 res. Mine's water cooled so I can't comment on fan noise as I haven't run it on air ever. Well, the 1080 ti is also a 300W GPU when overclocked. That said, Vega 64 performs like the 200W GTX 1080. McMicha
The Vega is a good graphics card, unfortunately not at DCS World. The driver is to blame here, because AMD has not optimized the drivers so great for DirectX 11 games with many 3D objects (Draw Calls). For DCS World an Nvidia 1080 (without Ti) is better suited than an AMD Vega 64. But since you already have a freeSync monitor, you won't notice much of the slightly lower performance. In other games the Vega 64 is partly better than the 1080, so you have no disadvantages. When DCS World is converted to Vulkan API, hopefully the Vega 64 will be able to reach its full potential. I hope so for my AMD Vega Frontier Edition Liquid Cooled, then the extra charge was worth it..... Simpit Software by SDA "SIMPIT DEVELOPER ASSOCIATION" DCS ExportScript D.A.C. BeastyBaiter
DCS does not use any elements of the Vulkan api at this time and I don't expect that to change for a year or two. colin519
I am using Asus Strix Vega 64 8GB. It's a great card, and I think you'll be just fine on it. It's still 200 CAD cheaper than a 1080 Ti. I've always used Nvidia but the RX 580 was the only sane upgrade from a 770 SLI rig I could find (didn't want to go from 2 x 2GB x 256-bit cards to 1 x 192 bit 6GB 1060 so I bought an 8GB RX 580 with excellent DX12 support) so I ended up with a FreeSync display too. Now here I am on Vega it seems. No regrets, FreeSync is beautiful. I undervolt my Vega 64, it runs faster/cooler and uses less a tiny bit less juice that way.
