Official statement for 2019 and question?

Recommended Posts

Hello

I have some questions regarding the official state of this module. Being at the main organizer of the international intercommunity event "REAL WAR", I need please have answers to these questions in order to update my maps.

1) Can we consider that for 2019 there is no more chance that the Hawk T1A has taken over by anyone and that the module will be permanently lost as a playable module?

2) Is it plane will stay in the list of an AI plane (for multiplayer games) ?

Thank you for having an official response from the community manager so that I can update all my maps..

1) As of right now, the Hawk will not be available in future versions, if somehow things change and we get the needed code, that could change, but dont count on it.

2) The AI is part of the core and should remain unaffected.

Ok thank you

DCS: BAE Hawk Update

We regret to inform you that VEAO is no longer a developer for DCS World. As such, they have also ceased support of their Hawk. Although we offered to support their product, they declined making the files available to do so.

Given this unfortunate situation, we will fully refund all Hawk customers that purchased the module starting from 1 October 2018.

If you are sure, that your order in E-shop from 1 October 2018 and you wish a full refund, please enter a support request here.

For those that purchased the Hawk prior to 1 October 2018, will continue to make DCS World 2.5.3 available, such that you can still fly the Hawk.

To avoid such issues in the future, all future 3rd party agreements are now required to make the game files available in case they are no longer able to support their product.

I like the fact that DCSW 2.5.3 is still being made available for those who want to fly the Hawk. However, since I just found out about this lack of availability in later versions of DCSW, how the heck do you get DCSW 2.5.3 after the program has gone through umpteen updates??? I don't find an option for just DCSW 2.5.3 anywhere.

The simplest way is to use Skatezilla's free and very useful utility .

Under the "Advanced" menu button you will see the "Revert" option , which will bring up every DCS version available to download .

You can also do this via command line , but as always , the slightest mistake in syntax will invalidate the command .
