(boot) tm joystick firmware 0

Yeap thats right what i got on when i install the drivers and wanted to update firmware the stick of my warthog after 3 years is totally dead

it says bootloader failure error 0x0000000c

i try many times this

the same thing got for my throttle also but this one it was visible in device manager

the stick had a yellow mark next to it

i unistall totally the drivers reboot system plug my throttle and works great again but still no luck with the stick

however the bulk drivers is installed when i plug them on

i have only usb 3.0 connections which it worked great so far included tir5

My throttle shows up as Firmware 0 after I place it in Bootloader mode as well.

My installed firmware is 20 and the software refuses to upgrade to 23. I am in contact with TM support over this as well, but one thing I can confirm for you is that it showing Firmware 0 certainly doesn't *have* to mean your hardware died.

The bulk drivers are dodgy and might cause this instead, so do not write your stick/throttle off before discussing thoroughly with TM support first!

Yes mine runs fine at FW20. Its just the upgrade to 23 that does not work.

I had this same shit. Finally found out that you need to make sure you have it plugged into a USB2 port NOT USB3. Once I did this it worked fine and updated.

My stick/throttle was working fine i like a dick i thought i would update it. I tried to update my throttle and joystick and the updater hung half way through with this error your talking about. After nothing would work and the stick throttle did nothing and was dead. Would not even recognize in windows.

I unplugged it from USB3 port then followed the Bootloader Instructions as described by TM using a USB2 port again and everything loaded up fine.

I spent around 5 hours screwing with it BTW using the USB3 port. It was the change to USB2 port that allowed it to update and work again.

I hope this works for you.. Keep me posted.

One question. Was the Stick/Throttle working fine before you tried to update the driver? Make sure you uninstall all TM drivers before trying again using a USB2 port.

Mine has always been in a USB2 port and it updated with no problems.

i was use them on usb2

the next day i upgrade a new motherboard with usb 3.0

and that when start the problems..even though my throttle works great without update the firmware...(however the bulk drivers could't intall for the stick)

now im searching to buy an extra usb 2.0 connectors for this motherboard

You could do something like that (they make them for USB 2 as well) but you are just adding complications. Your motherboard is all set up, you just need the connectors. Those connectors I pointed out are the same ones that you would use if your case had front panel USB 2 connections.

I actually have several of those USB 2 headers, that I am not using, but shipping to Greece would probably cost more than Amazon would charge.

There won't be any configuration or anything to do, just plug it in and go.

Btw, all of my mobo's have been ASUS for years (and my laptops). Always a good choice.

Good luck dude with the USB2. I am sure this is the problem. Don't ask me why I am not technically apt but it just worked for me.

As for TM support forget it they came back to me after 3 weeks and I told them how I fixed it and they obviously took absolutely no notice

You mention your sticks did not work as soon as you plugged them into USB 3.0. Mine actually work fine in USB 3.0 once I updated them with the USB 2.0 port.

You could just try to use someone elses computer with a USB 2.0 port to update the firmware and try them again once this is done in your USB3.0 ports.

Skouras why don't you just plug the HOTAS into a friends PC who has old usb 2.0 ports? Then update the firm ware. Then plug them back into your pc and they should work.
