It isn't GLOC, or hypoxia, but probably from blood loss... Everything was OK and I started heading back home, but after a minute or so I started losing consciousness. I was flying straight and level below 10k feet and even popped the canopy to let the fresh air in, but I still faded away and never came back... The pilot in the F-18 can't remove his mask to breathe outside air, so if O2 flow to the mask is cut, you'll slowly black out no matter what. Kang Posted January 12, 2020 Share Posted January 12, 2020 I'd also assume it's a hit in the oxygen system. That got fixed a while ago in that the pilot supposed doesn't suffocate anymore when you switch off the OBOGS while parked.
