Badger1815
Hi all, I'm starting this campaign & have a question on radio usage. When starting the mission i'm asked to tune to TAD 12, the tactical training frequency, which is 124 MHz AM. Apart from that, the briefing states a guard channel at 243 MHz to monitor at all times & my own flight is at 251 MHz. I can use radio 1 to monitor the tactical training freq, radio 2 for comms with JTAC & the UHF to monitor my flight & leave the guard channel alone? Or do i need to switch between flight & guard channel on the UHF radio? cheers Badger
grunf
In real life, A-10's UHF radio (AN/ARC-164) has the ability to simultaneously monitor guard frequency (243 MHz) and whichever frequency you select. Unfortunately this does not work in DCS, so you have to chose one or another. I haven't flown that campaign yet and don't know which of the two frequencies are better to monitor in this particular case. Hopefuly someone who does know will chime in. :) And hopefully ED will properly implement guard channel...
sze5003
Keep it on vhf am 124 after take off. You use vhf fm 30-32 for some of the jtacs in these misisons. Usually a few of them are also on 124am. Emuyen
[..] Usually a few of them are also on 124am. Uzi 1-1 uses 124am. No point in contacting him 4 times over FM Radio (like I did :joystick:)
sze5003
Yes that happens to me too. It does cut on your time to complete the misison. Im on mission 3 and noticed if the instructor calls playtime over the jtac menu item goes away. So keep that in mind, this didn't happen in missions 1 and 2 for some reason. I'm pretty sure I may have gone over the time in the second mission.
