After spending many hours in envy and drooling at all of you playing my wife decided to buy me an early Christmas present.

I'm not a PC'er, but I think she did ok?

CPU COOLING - NZXT Kraken X62
MOTHERBOARD - ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC) (Black)
GPU(GRAPHICS) - ZOTAC GAMING RTX 2080 Ti AMP
CPU - Intel Core i7-8700K 6-Core 3.7 GHz
POWER SUPPLIES - Seasonic Focus Plus 850W Gold

Holy hell I think you are ready to go!!!! But with a monster system like that, as constructive criticism, you should think about getting 32 gig.

16 gig can be short those days with Windows 10 and heavily modded games. I am a big player of Kerbal Space Program and I have that game eating 16 gig by itself with all the mods loaded.

Everything else is monstrous ...you will ENJOY this!

Rog. I'll ask for another 16 for a stocking stuffer

I have spent the last hr trying to figure out if I should buy from steam or here.. All I can find are old posts (perhaps I'm too excited lol).

Any suggestions as to which place?

Steam is a convenient copy protection client for general PC gaming. DCS has it's own client. Steam would just be a middleman as well as add a background process that you don't really need.

PC's take a lot more maintenance than MACs and you have to be very careful what you download and install.

Your wife's a keeper.

Haven't been on Steam in ages. Download the Open Beta here - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.c...wnloads/world/
This includes Caucasus, the Su25T and a trainer version of the P-51 for free. There used to be a huge lag between release on Open Beta and Steam - don't know if that's still the case.

Dude here has a Warthog for sale - sold his Crosswind pedals

GOGOjuice, buy it directly from DCS! They have their own client now and it works really well. I commonly read here people getting issues with the steam version.

Go DCS download and don't look back.

You have a great wife !

She got a sister ?

*maybe you want to change the RAM into a 32GB kit. This is one of the things many have problems with. 16GB does have it's limits in DCS.
