DUSTY Posted March 30, 2020 Share Posted March 30, 2020 My only gripe with the Mi8 is that it is completely pathetic when it comes to taking small arms fire. In the UH1 you can land in a hot LZ and get absolutely punished by inf with 7.62. At worst you'll lose some panels, cop a cracked windscreen and maybe have an elec problem. Unfortunately however, the Mi-8 seems to fall on the other end of the spectrum. Where even the quickest and lightest brush with hostile 7.62 will usually render one engine completely inop and 8/10 times you lose all your SAS channels which is incredibly painful. Has anyone else had similar experience with the 8 being too soft and squishy when it comes to enemy small arms fire?
