X52 false centre

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I am having a new problem with my X52 which is driving me crazy, I am wondering if some clever folk out there have seen this before and know a fix.

I am using the X52 to fly helos.

The stick has worked for years with no more problems than any X52 owner but recently it has developed a false centre mark - let me explain.

The stick is calibrated fine within Windows, everything works A OK.

I start DCS and open either the Black Shark or the Huey and as I sit on the ground without touching the controls the stick and pedals are all in the correct place as marked on the orange/red square with the cross in the middle.

As soon as any input is added to the stick the default centre for the joystick jumps above the centre of the cross and becomes the new centre. I can re trim it but to do this I have to move the stick back to the centre and then back the same distance again - pressing the trim then re centres the stick nearly back to the centre of the cross. That in itself is the easy bit but when flying and you want to trim you have to make the same adjustment, adding extra movement backwards so that when you release the trim the new centre is where you want it, that throws the helos nose up into the air which is just plain wrong.

Has anyone encountered such a problem or better yet fixed it?

The effect is the same within the settings. Without touching the controls all is set up great. Once the stick is touched a new centre is created.

These shots are from the Huey, it is more exaggerated in the Black Shark.
