Hello guys.

This is my first post here on the forum, I hope you like it and support it if you like it.

Today I was playing the Ka-50 online on a multiplayer server, and I saw players using transport helicopters like UH-1 and Mi-8 loading and unloading troops in the mission. Than a light bulb lighted above my head, I said what if when I'm shut down I'll ask a transport helo to come and pick me up :( it didn't work we tried.

So I want to suggest the following in order to make it work. DCS is a great game-engine and such thing should be in the game as it will open endless possibilities for the game and the community.

The Ability to get in and out the Aircrafts should be implemented to support this suggestion:

1- Pilot should have the ability to shot signal flare into the air.

2- The pilot should have the ability to drop smoke grenade (as Marker for LZ).

With that said this is how it should work:

1- A friendly pilot is shut down.

2- The friendly pilot after landing shares his Loc. and coords. and ask for CSAR.

3- when the shut down pilot sees the CSAR team the signal flare and marker smoke can be used to mark a LZ.

Now to the interesting part. I think this game need more players adding the ability to play as soldier will (keeping in mind what I mentioned above about getting in and out the vehicles) make players who like to play foot soldier come to the game (off course payable content to support the game).

We already have the ability to walk with our pilots on the ground :) so good work into the game to add FPS content and a new doors will open to the game.

Imagine the following, now the 2 teams can as used to fight in the air and do CAS and after a pilot is shut down a CSAR team made of transport helos and a fire team (players or AI) can have there own combat missions to have fun with. and to make that work each team will be locked to a ticket system where the tickets are the number of pilots that can be spawned add to the already in game options. So, the IMPORTANCE of rescuing and saving a pilot, if successfully done so a pilot is rescued back to the air base. The team will get a pilot spawn ticket back. That will give value to the CSAR missions and bring new players hopefully to the game!

When a team has run out of Pilots Spawn Tickets (PST) the opponent team is a winner. That's if a team ran out of PST before the other missions are completed in the season...

Off course after adding the ability to play as soldiers, recon team and a lot of other fun stuff will be made possible.

I hope you to like that idea and to see it in the game.

Thank you for reading and please support the idea if you like it, and share you thoughts about it.

CSAR mission, where the player is either helo pilot or Sandy fighter escort pilot is fantastic.

Behind Enemy Lines, SAM sequence is kind of absurd, with one exception. No SAM has a RC type control. SAMs are radar, IR, UV imaging, guided with optronic backup on some types. They certainly don't have enough fuel or energy for reattack. Optronic backup requires LOS.

I did like the concept of shotgun pebbles, instead of annular expanding rod , fragmentation warhead, normally on SAMs. Kind of like British Starstreak, where three terminal darts are used for increased PK.

Sure this would be a great addition but Unfortunately, this will probably not happen in our lifetime.

We can’t even get traction on saving a pilot from the sea. Which would require the pilot not sinking to his death (needs life raft) and being rescued by chopper pilots.

Sad isn’t it....

Indeed. Your know I didn't think about rescuing a Pilot from the see that's amazing! Also, it can be added as a single player missions rescuing people jumping into the sea from a oil platform or ship crew... OMG! Right?

a pilot who falls into enemy territory how can he hide?

a pilot in enemy territory must run towards the border and not walk in dcs the run there is no option.

a pilot in enemy territory can steal a car and go home.

All what you mentioned should already be in the game!

---

The Irony in the game that if we compare it to a 20 years old game which allowed players to get in/out of vehicles and switch seats but is not part of this insane sim! How sad!

where is he in the game? will you show me? let me see an example.

Let's see if it is possible for an expelled pilot to return to his own base safe and sound.

once he gets home, he can get on another plane.

or if he is captured by enemy infantry and arrested as a prisoner of war.

kia = killed in action

mia = missed in action

wia = wounded in action

pow = prisoner of war

I dream of a real digital battlefield ...where everything is a full object that can be added to the world. DCS is nice, but for air unit only.

Imagine a company that will go deep simulation (like DCS air units) ... but for all kinds of objects ... soldier, tank, support vehicle, helicopters, aircraft ...

Briefly ... ARMA 3, but down to simulation level.

it is simple if the pilot in DCS is intercepted and destroyed it will result in KIA, if instead the pilot has launched himself and ended up in a tropical forest or in a desert and you cannot find any missing MIA.

if the pilot in an emergency landing or in a fugitive situation remains seriously injured, WIA will result. in DCS to make him injured it will be enough a serious landing on an aircraft carrier followed by a fire or a serious landing in the airport followed by fire.

if the pilot is intercepted by enemy infantry (a simple team consisting of only 4 soldiers) within the 500m radius will result in POW.

and simple without complicating things it does not take too much, it is enough to simply insert these rules into the game.

naturally if it is KIA your personal curiculm and flight register are closed and therefore you will have to make another registration with another pilot.

if it turns out MIA you will have to wait 3 days until the search and rescue team is activated and they find you.

if it turns out WIA you will have to wait a week until you are treated in the hospital.

If POW results, you will have to wait for your pilots friends to conquer the portion of land where you are in prison, and then be released.

Nice Ideas, but as a temporary fix or even only for Singleplayer...

But I'm talking about the action which is missing from the game, that Utility Helicopter's pilots are missing. if you have a Huey it's nice if you can do the simplest thing which is to allow people into your back seats..! (Same for all utility helicopters..) That will give a meaning for those pilots...

Would love ©SAR missions in DCS, in particular air-sea rescue, helicopter winches (such as those already present but non-functional on the Mil Mi-8) can't be too dissimilar than the already implemented slingloading. As for sea, the environment does need a couple of improvements but models for life-rafts etc (which would even good for the DCS: Supercarrier module)
