So how do patches work?

So...

I've got several modules, and I'm running this on steam and not the beta. So how do the patches work out (for example I have the harrier and the F-18) do the planes get updated periodically, or is there some sort of cumulative quarterly or monthly patch that comes out? :helpsmilie:

The planes, maps, DLC campaigns, etc. get updated along with the main install when there is an update.

One week the Open Beta gets updated (main game plus modules - AV-8B, F-18, Persian Gulf, etc.), approx. a week later if there haven't been major issues - it gets pushed to the 'Stable' branch i.e. Open Beta and release are on the same version.

There have been 3 Open Beta updates this cycle and we expect another this week due to various issues.

Currently

• Stable is 2.5.3.23225 (2018-10-31)

• Open Beta is 2.5.3.24436 (2018-11-21)

The default Steam install is 'Stable', however you can opt into the 2.5 Open Beta via "Steam>DCS World Steam Edition>Properties>Betas>openbeta-Public beta versions"

Updates usually get pushed to Steam within 24hrs of the stand-alone.

In general, yes, but there are no hard and fast rules. Depends on how the Open Beta release has been. If there are no major issues, then the OB release is moved to stable a week or so later.

Both do usally as there usally is an update for the open beta and the next week the update will come to the stable, unless there are some bigger issues with the update, then the open beta gets updated twice in a row (or even more if necessary). But usally the open beta gets updated first and the stable follows a week later and then the open beta follows again in the week after, followed again by the stable and so on...

Today we get an open beta update, so there will probably be a stable update next Wednesday. Wednesday is the usual patch day btw.
