bonesvf103
I get what you are saying, but I guess from reading the manual I was under the impression that if you speak the TACAN tune command, whether you are in the Tomcat or another plane, that the sim would tune it for you and save you the trouble of having to do it with your mouse. So that’s why I was perplexed that I would speak that command and it would accept it but my TACAN up front would not change. v6, boNes "Also, I would prefer a back seater over the extra gas any day. hornblower793
TACAN Tune is part of the AIRIO extension and therefore only applicvable to Jester. With the exception of the 'Select tunes radio' option VAICOM is not intended to undertake cockpit control. You can either add your own commands to do this or daisy chain other profiles (such as Bailey's) which are designed to do this. I went on ICS and asked jester to “tacan tune X-ray 0 1 8.” The subtitle showed the command was accepted and the knob showed it too. I had tacan set to NFO and the steerpoint set to tacan. But i wasn’t getting a tacan cue in the his or hud. I was in cruise mode and later landing, 18X is Groom Lake...does Area 51 not broadcast a tacan maybe? v6, boNes "Also, I would prefer a back seater over the extra gas any day. bonesvf103
I figured it out. For some reason on some missions, Jester's TACAN is set to A/A rather than T/R and on other missions it is fine at T/R. I don't know anything about mission editing, but is there something in the editor that allows the writer to set the TACAN settings? Or is this just random. Anyway, that was why it appeared he would tune TACAN but nothing would happen. v6, boNes "Also, I would prefer a back seater over the extra gas any day.
