Blue Nose Bastards Campaign Trouble/Bugs

In mission 4 Yellow flight members 2 and 4 seem to be parked in the same parking spot. So they never start up or take off and I never have the full flight to trigger the start of the mission. I checked in the mission editor and it looks fine there, they are in separate parking spots. But when the mission starts yellow 2 and 4 seem bugged out. Please help.

 

Also, in mission 3 when switching the radio to channel A and trying to give my flight orders it automatically switches back to channel C and nothing works/no one responds. I was still able to complete this mission though.

 

Thank you for any suggestions/help. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the campaign. Also, I do not have easy comms enabled.

 

I also tried going into the mission editor, making a new mission, and putting a 4 wing flight in the same parking spots as in mission 4 of the campaign. The bug did not replicate this way. There was a plane parked in spot 7 whereas in the campaign mission they are both in spot 5.

Hi Arbil,

 

Thanks a lot for the detailed report, it helps a lot. It used to be a problem introduced with 2.5.6 because the parking spot numbers were unexpectedly reshuffled on the Normandy map. All missions were broken, but I did fix them, at least I thought so. Looks like this one got away. I fixed the spawn points and submitted to ED just now.

 

Thanks again for the report, it helps a lot, because it's impossible for me to re-fly all 50 of my released campaign missions after each and every update. I try my best, but I rely heavily on user reports.

Awesome, thank you for the reply.

 

What is happening with the radio thing is:

1: I switch the radio to channel A so I can give orders to my wing. i.e. have them switch formation or have them attack targets when we engage.

2: As soon as I select the final menu option, like "finger four" or "engage bandits", the radio automatically goes to channel C and I get no response from my wingmen and they don't follow the order.

As in - button A was pushed, then an invisible hand pushes button C? That's weird, it may be a bug unrelated to the campaign. I'll try to reproduce.

 

EDIT: I checked, and there is no "set frequency" task in the mission at all. As a matter of fact:

 

 

Channel A and C are set to the same frequency so that you can keep communicating with your wingmen while monitoring the bombers' frequency - it kind of simulates them following you to the new channel

Although it wasn't mentioned in the patch notes, I checked and the parking bug in mission 4 is fixed now. Thanks again for the report!

I have a general question for you - now that tranche 2 of the WW2 assets pack has just dropped, what will this allow you to do, either in terms of updating existing campaigns or in new upcoming campaigns, that you haven’t been able to do before? Thanks

Hi, I'm really glad you asked :)

 

After the new assets came out I went through all my WWII missions and updated them. Some of them were designed with these new assets in mind, so they will play an important role in the mission, and in some others I just added them to increase the variety.

 

E.g. In mission 6 of BNBOB you will be chasing a JU88 in the bad weather, in mission 11 you'll escort A20s, in mission 8 of The Big Show you'll finally attack a real V-1 site, etc...but you'll see many of these aircraft flying around you in others too, and you'll also encounter Schnellboats, and even uboats.

 

BUT:

 

I was about to finish testing, when I noticed that A20s scatter once you attack them, because they ignore the reaction to threat settings. I reported this bug, and once it's corrected I'll do a final testing and send the update to ED.

Great stuff, thank you. The campaigns get better and better, and will go up another gear when we get the WW2 damage model (in two weeks).
