Let's see. I was a 67n Huey mechanic in the U.S. Army. Then a Ford Motor Company mechanic for 28 years. Now I teach diesel technology in a corporate sponsored Career and Technology High School program.

This will be my first summer off since 1979. Woohoo!

Used to be an Editor and Motion Graphics artist, but I got sick of never getting any sleep so I decided to cause all the grief rather then take it :-) *evil laugh*

I'm going to start working on a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering in the fall. After that, I will hopefully work for an airframer and make my way up to test pilot status.

I work in social services. Specifically I manage one of the three foster youth group homes that my agency runs. Lots of staff scheduling, budgeting, mentoring/counseling, ensuring regulatory compliance, etc. Beyond the nitty gritty details which absorb most of my days, the main effort is developing means with which to keep our kids in school and away from drugs/gangs/prostitution/etc. Sadly, most of the kids we get are so messed up and traumatized by the time they were finally pulled from their parents home, that there is often very little we can do. I doubt I'll be in this field five years from now, to be honest -- the work is too sad and stressful, for very little reward. I'm actually a pretty competent hobbyist programmer in C/C++, so I suspect that in a few years, once my undergrad loans are mostly paid off, I'll go to grad school for CS and go that route: at least the problems you face in software engineering are solvable.

I'm a Project Engineer in Process Automation, mostly working within the UK water industry but also the other utilities, rail, etc.

Another helicopter mechanic here. S-92, S-76A/C+/C++, AW-139, EC-135, Bell 407, Bell 206, are all in our current stable in the GOM. Previous experience includes the above plus, BO-105, AS-335, and of course my first love the UH-60A.

 

Any of you other helicopter folks work for Bristow or Cougar?

I worked for Bristow in Nigeria for a few years ..... based outta Eket , little time spent in PH or Lagos , never went to Warri .

Aircraft maintenance engineer ..... worked on Boeing 707,720,727,737,747,757,767 ..... Airbus A300 , 310, 319 , 320 , 321 , 330 . Concorde ..... sad shame !!!

Alpha Jet , Super Puma ,Sikorsky S-61N , 76C+ C++ plastic pig . Bo-105 , EC-135 . That weird Kaman thing . Hughs 500 . Alouette III Astar & Twinstars . HS 125 , DO328 Prop & Jet . And my favourite planes to work on are the Bell 212 and the Douglas DC-8 or DC-10 , and I prefer working freighters if possible !!!

Damn man. :D Depends on what you can call experience though. If I would list everything that I worked on for at least two months, the list would be over a dozen long ranging from Cessna's, museum jet fighters to cutting edge military aircraft and wide body airliners. And I'm not even 24 yet. :)

My only real knowledge and experience is just in a couple of commercial turbofans.

I am still going to school for some years. I am getting a 5 year crash curse about electrical energy, motors, etc. After that, I am not sure what to do. Either go there where the money is and continue studying electrotechnic or go where my heart wants to go and apply for a pilot job at Lufthansa. It gonna be tough, altough I made it to the youngest pilot of Austria half a year ago, so maybe I have at least some chances.

Probably forgot a few ..... Cessna Citations , and F-16 ..... Grumman Widgeon , Pitts Special , Cessna Caravan with pontoons for water . Think that's about it ..... and some sorta push , pull Cessna thing .

Austrian take all our profits to make their books look good , but overall the group is owned by Lufthansa ..... who are now losing money !!!

Austrian take all our profits to make their books look good , but overall the group is owned by Lufthansa ..... who are now losing money !!!
