GumidekCZ Posted June 23, 2019 Share Posted June 23, 2019 I was trying go really fast, but something was holding me back. So I jettisone all external tank but with very small amost negligible effect. Than I jettisoned OUTER externals with only single AIM-120C (next mission also double rack). Only and than the F18 started to really accelerate and almost extra 100 IAS. WHAT? HOW? jettisoned tanks did almost nothing, and slim streamlined AIM120 boosted jet like SpaceX Dragon? Cannot be thruth...and yes it is, look on these picture. So ED check Drag indexes, would be best for all racks and munitions. Thanks very much. 3 tanks + 2xdouble aim120 rack = 510 IAS 1 tanks + 2xdouble aim120 rack = 542 IAS 0 tanks + 2xdouble aim120 rack = 565 IAS -> Sum of 3 LARGE FULL tanks = extra only 55 KTS 0 tanks + 0xdouble aim120 rack = 662 IAS -> Outer stores give me extra 97KTS!!!
