In other words, there will be no separate installation that runs outside of DCS World. That would defeat the primary goal of DCS World.
Best news ever.

I am so happy about this that I am not even going to complain about anything.

I understand the new rewards system, although I am with tough_boy about the selection of the planes.

In my case I already bought the mustang long ago, and I don't really fancy the Dora when the Spitfire or the P-47 are on list, so my question is: wouldn't it be possible to use the data from the Backers' rewards selection page in order to let the users choose which aircraft they would like to fly and then afterwards acquire the rest?

Thanks

They said they'll do their best to honour kickstarter commitments. This doesn't look like their best. Not at all. It's a cheap cop-out.

$20/Per Modg is hardly a Cheap Cop-Out.

I am happy with this. It could be worse, much worse.

Indeed. ED could have just walked away from Ilya completely.

Well, in my opinion the original Kickstarter campaign was bulls..t anyway. There was no way in hell the project would end up being profitable with all the goodies promised for unrealistic prices. A "mini Ponzi-scheme" for DCS if you ask me. The offer above sounds much more plausible, I admit however some folks ain't going to be happy about lack of plane swap option.

i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

if all else fails, sell your extra or unwanted P-51D License Key for funds towards the aircraft you want, or trade.

Oh and Thanks for not separating DCS world into different products by era, I just didn't understand that move.

Same here, but making a mission you would have to sive through the list trying to find what you need. Unless there was a drop menu [with in the ME] with era units.

Example

All

WW2

korea

Vietnam

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

We dont have any info on how that will all be handled yet... I would assume they are aware of this.

EDIT: I'll add it to my list of questions to ask for upcoming updates.

Confused on July Update

Maybe I misunderstood the original backer, when I put up $85...

I see in this update this is what I get now:

$80-$99

Silver Backer credit in manuals

DCS: P-51D Mustang and print-ready PDF manual

Normandy Map

DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora, Alpha access, and print-ready PDF manual

DCS: Bf-109K, Alpha access, and print-ready PDF manual

DCS: Spitfire, Alpha access, and print-ready PDF manual

But the plane I most wanted was the p47 Thunderbolt... ???

So basically I lose the p47, which is the one I mostly wanted and get 2 planes I might not fly ?

Maybe I am misreading ?

ED was certainly sleeping during the KS campaign. :smilewink:

Well... not sure that is fair... I am sure it was assumed that RRG could handle their own project and not need babysitting... specially as they had experiences in the industry already... but I really dont wanna get to deep in discussing RRG or any failings... want to look forward... not back.

Very fair solution. I'm a bit bewildered by all the bellyaching from folks who easily could have ended up with nothing to show for their money at all. ED was under no obligation to pick it up when RRG dropped it.

Thank you, ED, for salvaging this project! I will certainly support it as it goes ahead!
