MiG-19 Release Postponed

This is a respectable move being made here. This community strives for modules, but at the same time a large portion desire for completion. If it means I will fly a complete product by EA, its worth my wait.

but if its complete, how can it be EA?

Copy! No problems, take Your time for a much more complete Module.

Some screenshots and videos "on line" are just amazing.. so go ahead, this is the right path.

Following the regular development updates on social media I'm impressed at the apparent speed the module was developed at. They should take their time to polish it now.

I guess this would be called a Beta then, wouldn't it? Complete, but maybe not quite bug free.

If they really try to release it without any bugs to the general public, that's a very optimistic undertaking IMO. But it probably won't matter what they call it. Early Access, Open Beta, Release, Stable etc. are pretty loose terms in DCS anyway.

Specs:

i9 10900K @ 5.1 GHz, EVGA GTX 1080Ti, MSI Z490 MEG Godlike, 32GB DDR4 @ 3600, Win 10, Samsung S34E790C, Vive, TIR5, 10cm extended Warthog on WarBRD, Crosswinds

Feature complete !!

This means that every system is coded, but might contain some bugs not fully fixed. Normally this is called Beta.

What we have seen so far (from Razbam atleast) is Alpha versions, where many systems hasn´t been coded yet.

This is how internal testing works, who found something wrong doesnt matter, what matters is both ED and RAZBAM are committed to making the module as good as it deserves to be. People are wasting too much energy on who said stop first.

Nice to see that ED forums is actually the place with nicest reactions to this news! All other venues I've read reactions in have been, let's say, a bit more toxic ^^

Looking forward to the module, once it's done! :D

Thanks Wags and ED for imposing stronger QC. Guys like Razbam need it.

I think the hold was a good call it that was what was decided.. and i agree Razbam needs this type of review, but so does ED and all other partners.. What i like here is that ED and Razbam did a review and together decided there were enough little things that needed to be cleaned up before an initial release.. As much as i love new modules coming out, this just ensures they are feature complete (but not bug free) before going to early access/beta.

And i think the overwhelming support just to this thread has been great, very little complaining, so many people thankful and patiently waiting...

i had to make sure i was still in the right place :-D

Happy to see that with the speed the MiG-19 has been developed with and the late changes from feedback, that the care is being taken to consolidate that development before release. Am very much looking forward to hopping into an aircraft feature-complete and relatively bug free!

Not 100% sure what you are after here - feature complete doesn't seem to be a requirement for the release of the module, F-18 and F-14 (lacking A variant) are not released feature complete and neither was C-101.

What ED listed sounds like primarily a first impressions thing - they don't want modules to appear half-finished and "a little" more polish was required in some aspects to not lose face.

What I read from this is ED raising the bar for all third parties and guaranteeing future quality of modules, so it's not specifically directed at Razbam. A few folks think that Razbam was just submitting crap below the common standards this time, I guess the impressions are somewhat subjective. The hit to reputation would probably have been much greater for Razbam than ED, had the module already released.

Either way I don't really care. What matters is the vendor's commitment to support already released stuff the customers have paid for. Early access is a nice thing but what really matter are the years of enjoyment you can get from a nearly finished and well supported module.

We shouldnt get into comparing modules too much, the F/A-18C was released as it was as we thought people would be excited to have it, and enjoy it as it developed, the MiG-19 isnt as complex, so probably it will be more feature complete when it drops, that said it wasnt missing features that slowed it up, but some nagging issues that needed to be polished up before release.

Agreed, I was really happy we got the F-18 early as it allowed us to practice our carrier traps, which alone is fun. But also learn systems as they come online, that way it is less overwhelming.

People seem to buy products that are early access, fully aware of it being early access... but then complain that it isn't finished. It boggles the mind.

As far as the Mig-19, good on ED and Razbam to delay it until it is fully ready since it is going to be a finished module.
