But what about existing users too? Not only new. I guess the transition period is good, but I think it would feel weird if I had to deal with keys 10 year later when most of things are kelyess, just because I purchased it before XYZ date.

As in, complete and total conversion to keyless. For the Standalone in my case, since I don't have nor plan to use Steam for anything DCS.

It would be for existing customers too.

For modules from before the cutoff date, you should still be able to use the starforce key from your steam installation. Click the game in your list and select "CD key" from the links list on the right side of the steam GUI.

Would we be able to transition existing standalone modules to the Steam version in the foreseeable future? Is it being considered?

I think the plan is to eventually convert them all.

In the fall of 2018, I asked for a Viggen module to be transferred from steam to DCS. The ED team said it was impossible. I bought Viggen again on DCS. What's next? Will Viggen replace me for another module?

I'm in the same boat for the mirage but I sort of accepted it at the time. It would be nice to get something but I wouldn't expect it as it was in the T&Cs at the time.

Heres a question I havent seen yet (I may have missed it...)...and others are asking as I see now...

I have Persian Gulf, AV-8B and F/A-18 on both Steam and DCS. If I bind my steam acct with my DCS acct, will I lose access to the second purchases I made? Id like to give those modules away in a contest if I can.

How to transfer keyless DCS modules purchased on STEAM?

Please note, all future DCS World DLC released on Steam from 12th May 2017 on will now use Steam Keys instead of Star-Force keys.

Here are some modules released on Steam after 12-May-2017:

DCS: M-2000C; DCS: Nevada map; DCS: Spitfire; DCS: AJS-37; DCS: Normandy map; DCS: WW2 Assets pack; DCS: Su-33; DCS: AV-8B Night Attack V/STOL; DCS: F/A-18C; DCS: Persian Gulf map

as well as many new campaigns starting from the Museum Relic campaign.

You always can find the date in the Steam store - Sort by Release date

These modules can be bound and activated on the DCS World e-shop version from the site.

To do this, on the DCS website, on the profile page, find a special Steam account block

please use the link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/profile/

1) You need to link the Steam account to your DCS account.

After clicking on the "BIND" button, you will be redirected to the Steam website, where you must log in and agree to share publicly available information from your profile with us.

2) After logging in to the Steam site, you return to our site and, if successful, the "GET LICENSES" button will be available.

Click the "Get licenses" button.

3) As a result, you can obtain a list of the products whose licenses that:

1. Already have a DCS account (Steam or not Steam)

2. Can be transferred to your account from Steam

3. Can not be transferred because they are in different types of protection

4) Click the "Transfer licenses" button.

As a result, the licenses available for transfer will be bound to the DCS account.

5) When you re-enter this page, the Steam license list will be displayed.

6) You can request licenses again to replenish them if you purchased new DCS products on Steam. New licenses also can be bound, as in the previous paragraph.

7) When you click the "Unbind" button, all your Steam transferred licenses will be revoked and the binding removed.

* Display name in Steam: "your name" - is not a login but rather information permitted by the Steam user to display on a public profile.

Please note that the transferred products will now be available in your Standalone install and also remain available in your Steam Version.

You may also only transfer from Steam to Standalone, Standalone to Steam transfer is not available.

Nineline, apologies for reposting but I’d really like some guidance...

Is there any expectation that modules purchased for standalone might be eligible to transfer to Steam in the foreseeable future?

It says black shark 2 can not be trasferred now. And also my f-14 purchase is not listed.

Will it change in the future?

Same issue, I have the F-14 pre-ordered on steam, but no CD key to transfer to standalone, will I be able to transfer after I get an F-14 key from steam?

Should just stick with steam

So I won't lie, I was excited to get all my steam modules transferred over to stand alone but today I have been waiting for 30 minutes for today's tiny update. All my steam friends, instant update. Current speed DL 0.3 KB. Speedtest DL 812 mbps.
